Really pleased with this Indian ink.I'd been looking for a good drawing ink suitable for comic book style drawings for a while and I've read reviews on lot of different brands. Strangely I saw no reviews or recommendations for Winsor and newton, which puzzled me because winsor & newton is a well recognised brand in art supplies. So when I ordered this it felt like a bit of a gamble.I need not have worried; the quality of this ink is amazing. The ink lays down really nicely and provides a nice deep black. This is important because a lot of the reviews often criticised other brands for dull and weak blacks.Also, I found the Winsor & newton ink retains its boldness on the page after time, which is extremely good, as I've heard some brands can fade a lot after time.I perhaps should have bought a smaller bottle of this to test first but I ended up gambling on this large bottle because it was such a great price. The gamble paid off. Really really nice product.5 stars.

I didn't know until I'd used it, but it contains shellac and when it's dried it has a gloss finish. That isn't what I wanted and it's been a waste of cash really. Additionally, it takes a long time to dry and if you pass over the lines again you extend the drying time further and double the risk of smudging the work by being clumsy. Compared to using a fine liner it's just not a good idea..If it's precisely what you want, it's great value and well packaged.

I don’t have much experience with inks as I have recently started to learn modern calligraphy so in no way an expert but my experience so far as been positive and I would definitely buy this ink again in the future.

Rich black ink, perfect for dip pens. I've been buying W&N since I was a teenager and having tried other brands (like Jackson) it is hands down the best whether you're a hobbyist like me a or a pro.
