This Cangshan French Laundry knife set is truly remarkable. For years I have been using duller, unbalanced knives as I honed my cooking skills. I finally decided it was time to acquire new blades. This set is all you'll ever need as a home cook. The blades are extremely sharp, so be very careful if you are a novice cook! The handle, a beautiful navy blue that echoes the blue door from the restaurant, The French Laundry, seamlessly accents my kitchen. I love the grip: it is just right for my hand and is well balanced. I can grip it close to the blade for precision cuts and farther back for a looser grip. I wash the blades right away after use and dry before returning it to the walnut box. The walnut case fits perfectly in my kitchen drawer, minus the lid.6-piece set includes:3 1/2" Paring knife7" Utility knife8" Chef's knife10" Chef's knife10" Carving Knife10" Bread KnifeMagnetic Hinge Walnut Storage CaseI do have one complaint. The foam rest for the knives inside the box stinks horrifically. It is a very strong chemical odor and I've tried a lot of home remedies to get rid of it (to no avail.) I will probably pull it out at some point and see if I can clean it or try something else. Thankfully, it doesn't affect the beauty or usefulness of the knives.

I have never owned nor seen a more beautiful set of knives! But they aren’t just pretty to look at, they perform spectacularly. The handles are comfortable to hold and feel nice in your hand. The knives are well balanced and have enough weight to get the job done, quite easily I might add, but aren’t so heavy that your hand/wrist will get tired. The blades are superb quality and super, super sharp. I mean it. Please be careful. This set is well rounded and would likely be the only set a home kitchen would need unless you required a specific specialty knife. They come nestled in a walnut box with a magnetic lid that keeps them safe. That’s where I’ll keeping them when they aren’t in use, but when my toddler gets a bit older I’ll be moving them to a magnetic wall hanger. Also, please don’t put these in the dishwasher. It could cause pits in the blades. Believe me, I hate washing dishes as much as the next person, but these knives deserve a little love. A lot of thought and care went into designing these knives and it shows. I think these would be perfect for either a professional kitchen or in a home for someone that wants a high quality set that will last a lifetime.

Boy oh boy these are nice knives. Each knife is Incredibly sharp not to mention durable. They are very pretty knives with a high quality feel from tip to handle. When you use them you feel like a professional and I'm sure a lot of thought went into producing this set of well balanced knives. Comes with a very nice storage box that looks high class. Do i think they are worth 1000 bucks? Idk i think it really depends on the person you can get other knives that work just as well but if you have the money don't hesitate buying these
