While I did not initially want to buy this product, I was pretty much forced to due to having to use a dummy battery, which prevented my ZV1's battery compartment door from closing, which in turn prevented me from using a tripod or boom mount.However, since receiving this product, I am now glad I have it, and not just to use in conjunction with the dummy battery, but in general. Because you cannot remove your SD card or battery while using a tripod, selfie stick, or boom mount, it makes it a pain to use the ZV1 when having to switch cards or batteries. That's where this bad boy comes in handy. Now, I don't have to completely remove my camera from its tripod just to change cards or batteries. It saves time and hassle. It also has a spot on the side to screw a tripod into so you can get vertical shots, which can be helpful to the right people. The quality is also great. The metal it's made of feels nice, durable, and premium.Though I did initially get this to use solely with a dummy battery, I will now be using this rig as part of my everyday camera setup. It will remain on my camera at all times.

I love this rig because it helps me film reels and TikTok’s vertically. I also love that it allows me to take out my battery and memory card with ease when it’s on a tripod. It’s really helpful in content creation, design is simple and it doesn’t make my camera bulky.

Now that I have this nice, solid base on my camera, I no longer have to disconnect my add-ons (mike, etc). The battery and SD card door are completely accessible and easy to insert and remove the battery and the SD card. There are several holes on the bottom for various connections of peripherals. It has a cold shoe to connect what you may need to use it for.It also makes my camera feel a little more solid and easier to hold.

This is an excellent addition to the Sony ZV-1.It makes it possible to open the battery/memory card door while the camera is attached to a tripod.It provides a variety of threaded 1/4-20 holes in more useful locations: 9 on bottom, 1 on right side. Importantly, it provides three 1/4-20 holes aligned with the optical axis of the camera. (The Sony's built-in 1/4-20 hole is about 20mm off-axis.)It adds a cold shoe on the bottom left.It adds some height to the camera making it easier for me to grip the camera. (I have big hands.)It brings the weight of the camera with the plate to 333g. (For some reason the camera feels much heftier with the plate attached. But I weighed the plate -- it's only 41g.)It provides protection for the camera and view screen from the bottom.It's an amazing value.Warning: DO NOT USE the included Phillips screwdriver. It is too small for the plate's captured mounting bolt. Use a proper #2 Phillips screwdriver, or you might strip the head. (It would have been better if they had used a bolt with a hex key rather than Phillips.)

It never fails just when you hit the record button or in the middle of shooting a video the battery dies. Then you have to take the camera off the tripod and remove the tripod shoe from the camera to get the battery out. Well this makes it very easy because you do not have to remove the tripod shoe from the camera. Just remove the camera from the tripod and then open the camera and replace the battery. Simple as that. I wish I would have known about this and bought it when I bought the Sony ZV-1 camera 2 years ago. It would've made battery and SD card changes so easy. It does take small fingers to get the SD card out though. I just shake the camera and it comes out enough for me to get it out.

This mount is good to support my camera and simple to use too.

Handly little base plat that makes it easier to mount your camera to a tripod while still maintaining access to the battery and sd card slots.

I love the ZV-1 but the biggest headache was having to unscrew it from my tripod mount to change out the battery & memory card. This mount let me move the tripod base over enough that I can now swap out the battery + card without unscrewing everything else. Now I can be back in a couple seconds. Completely eliminated the only frustration I had with the camera and is well-worth any of the extra bulk that it adds.
