Just as good today as it was back then.
Build a Shaker Table by Kelly Mehler is a classic woodworking video for good reason. It was created in the late 1980's and is just as relevant today as then. This instructional video follows the construction of a Shaker table from beginning to end. Kelly begins at the lumber pile describing how he chooses the perfect boards and progresses through cutting, jointing, mortising, glue up, and finishing.Along the way he discusses machinery, hand tools, design choices and how to repair or conceal damaged spots on the project.I think of this video as a must-have in any woodworker's library.

I'm in Kelly's workshop
Watching this video is like being there with this craftsman. I can watch it again and again to get details. That's the great thing about DVD. Watching him work almost feels like I am holding the other end of the board.

Great Video
I am getting back into word working and this video was as much inspiration as instruction. I am working on my table right now.

Build A Shaker Table
I purchased this video at a woodworking show in Nashville,Tn about 2 years and have watched it at least 20 times. I havea large collection of woodworking videos and can unambigouslystate that this is the best all around video of the bunch. Mr.Mehler is an excellent instructor and the care he takes in his work is evident throughout the video. The project is a challenge, but the techniques shown in the video can be applied to about any project. The video starts with themilling process and continues through the beginning stages of thefinishing. If the video has one shortcoming it is that finishing is pretty much left up to the viewer. Of course, this is intentional. The video throughly describes and demonstratesthe process of transforming raw materials into a finished project (i.e., wood selection, milling, grain direction, jointing, glue-up, surface prep, etc...). I strongly recommend this video for the serious beginning and intermediate woodworker.I review this video before nearly every project I begin.I would also strongly recommend his Mastering the Table Saw video for the beginner.
