Y8358-2" Hand Carved Netsuke - Pretty Rabbit

This is a ridiculous toy-like rendition of the detailed hand-carved rabbit pictured in the ad. This is NOTHING like what I ordered! Very disappointed.

It is clearly a wooden carved rabbit. That is where the resemblance to the picture on the post for sale ends. The one on the picture looks like a hare. It looks like a real rabbit. The item I received looks like a child's toy it's much fatter than the photo and it has a big smile on its face and the front feet are definitely messed up. I could ignore the feet if it didn't look like a cartoon character. The item I received looks nothing like the photo. I waited 3 weeks LOL huge disappointment.

This lovely little bunny carving, actually it was not "little" and is about 2" long x 1.25" wide, is a delight to hold. Smooth and precise carving and it shipped rather fast for a 3rd party overseas order in a sturdy styrofoam box. It is not quite the same carving as depicted in the listing - the bottom was left raw (the outer husk of the tagua nut still intact. The holes for the lanyard were a tiny bit rough visually but I used a few grades of manicure sponges to smooth it down. Still, the carving of the bunny itself is very close to the photo when you take into account the "hand of the maker" affecting each individual piece (and so very slight differences are present, like length and angle of the ears and forehead). Overall I am quite happy with this and would order it again especially at such a low price for original work! I have mine attached to a Japanese folded fabric coin purse with the same theme (Autumn Moon-gazing hare).

The Netsuke that I received did not have 2 holes drilled at its base nor did it have its carvers initials both as shown in the picture you displayed. L. Zwas

It was missing the hole that would accommodate a cord from which to hang an inro or an other object.

The rabbit carving advertised is of much better quality than the one you receive.
