Great product, easy for beginner DIY
Great value, this thing cut through my stone counter and stone sink very smoothly. I was worried about this DIY project bc I didn’t want to destroy an expensive kitchen. I also didn’t want to pay someone $100+ to come and drill a hole. I almost took off one star bc the water did leak from the plastic cup/guide but compared to the mess dust makes this thing is genius. If you need to install a filter faucet, disposal switch etc just buy this thing and go for it !I used a 18V makita power drill. Start on “1” low rpm in drill mode (not hammer drill mode). Used a slight angle, then straighten out. I needed to apply a bit of pressure to the drill but took my time and let the bit do it’s thing.

Easy to use even for a first timer!
This was the first time I had done anything like this and was a bit intimidated by the prospect of cutting hole in 1.5" of pristine granite countertop, which was not my own. But there was little reason to be I found out.THE GOOD:It took less than 10 minutes since I took it easy and checked the hole often. Probably will be half that the next time around. All I had to do was keep the drill vertical and make sure it wasn't going off at an angle which the guides helped with initially. It did almost all the work, I put only a little bit of pressure. The weight of the drill and whatever pressure the weight of my hands and arms coming in at a 15 degree angle from horizontal. Which really was not much. It is an abrasive cutter so it just wears away the material that it is rubbing against.Clean cut all the way through except for a 1mm thick piece at the end on about 1/8 of the circle that was about a couple of mm beyond the hole . But not a big deal at all. The core fell right out.Couldn't have been easier.THE BAD:The adhesive was not great and kept coming away from the counter top. I had cleaned the countertop with alcohol and made sure the surface was even. But it was polished, might have been difficult to stick to. It did seem like it stuck pretty well at the beginning, but the water mixed with granite grit seemed to infiltrate the area in about 30 seconds. Between that and the vibration of the drill I had water leaking out the sides fairly soon. No problem, I had another person lightly hold it down and that took care of it.OVERALL:I would say this is an easy project if you take your time and are careful to keep the drill vertical/straight down. Also, flush out the water once it starts getting opaque, seemed to work better with clean water but maybe that was just my perception.Keep the drill at a low RPM, try it and see what you find works. In my case I put my electric hammer drill in the drill setting (no hammering!), low speed and I had the trigger about 20% in. Tool low and I kept feeling the drill wobble. To fast and it seemed like it was just spinning without doing anything useful. For me it was just fast enough that I could barely feel or hear it wobble. YMMV. Part of the reason for the wobble might have been that my hole was not perfectly straight and as the hole progressed I hole saw was touching the cut surfaces a little bit. Can't complain, it worked out really well. Good luck with your projects!

Whoever invented this must have an IQ of 180.
Need to install a filtered water faucet and I don't want to pay someone 150$ to drill a hole.I have never drilled on counter tops in my life. So I did a little research and landed on this gem.It got the job done, smoothly cut through quartz counter top. And I didn't even have a drill, I used my cordless driver with a conversion bit. I am so amazed! The guide basically removes the need to manage angle by yourself, and the water reserve removes your need to manage cooling. Genius!

Saved me money
Like some other reviews, during drilling, the adhesive broke and water spilled out. The second time, I held it down a bit better. I think it's my fault. When drilling, if you push on the sides of the plastic, the tape will move and water will leak and once it's wet, it's over. So if you can keep your drill perfectly straight, it works fine.Regardless of this, I was able to drill two holes through 1 in granite with the bit. After the first hole, I didn't think it was going to be able to do another but it did! And it might be able to do more but I don't need to.I'm happy with this purchase and I would buy it again if I needed to drill holes again.

Adhesive pads do almost nothing to keep water in.
This product works ok... For one or two jobs. The adhesive pads really aren't up to the task and the plastic "bowl" is definitely not going to last more than a few uses. However for one or two projects around the house, it's not a bad purchase. Definitely not recommended for contractors/commercial users

Excellent tool for cutting tile
I have purchased several of the tile hole kits over the years. The tool cuts precision round holes in all types of tile. The adhesive-foam-adhesive pads work on smooth and textured tile surfaces. The diamond carbide hole cutter last for many, probably over 20, tile cuts. I would highly recommend this tile cutting kit to my friend, relatives, etc.

Worthless, would not buy again.
The concept is great, directions are easy to follow, and the product is easy to use. However, that’s where the positive review ends.I drilled 3 holes in 3/4” granite. The first 2 holes were easy, the 3rd hole barley made it. Started the next hole & just scratched the surface. Looked @ the bit & all the diamond material was gone. Might as well have been using a piece of sandpaper. $20 bucks and three holes. I still had 7 to go. Now I have to go down to the Lowe’s or H/D, 60 mile round trip. Next time I will pay the extra $15-20. Do not buy this bit!

EASIEST HOLE THROUGH Porcelain/cast iron sink
After moving out of Communist Washington state, we settled in freedom loving Texas. Our new home has a cast iron/Porcelain sink and we needed a hole for a filtered water faucet. This product drilled right through the sink with ease.
