Group Therapy for Substance Use Disorders: A Motivational Cognitive-Behavioral Approach

Not that helpful
I had to slog through the first chapter. The authors could have written in a more succinct and simpler style to make their point clear and concise. I found this book confusing and a pain to read. I dislike the over use of abbreviations to substitute for actual words such as "RCT" and "GSC". Until the reader figures out what these abbreviations mean, it would be helpful if the authors HIGHLIGHTED their meaning in DARK BOLD FONT instead of forcing the reader to double back on a wordy paragraph to figure it out. I actually hated this book and wish the authors or editors would redesign it somehow because I suspect that hidden somewhere in this book might be some helpful information.

Amazing
I really like this book. It contains a great summary of group therapy basics rules and introduce an easy to do motivational approach. I have to say that I don't agree with the comment below. It is really well writen and easy to understand (English is not my first language as you may understand by my mistakes in this review). The abbreviation that are use are commonly found in other textbook (ex: RTC ; randomized controlled trial) and their definition is found at the beggining of the book.Really I have nothing bad to say about this book. It is brief and well designed. Maybe meant for the use of professionnal and researcher and not for personnal reading...
