Appalling clock
Layer after layer of disappointment with this clock - upon opening, it feels cheap and rather unpleasant; the buttons are all very stiff and difficult to use, so if you have to change your alarm setting frequently, that's not helpful. Then I couldn't get the battery cover off to install batteries - virtually impossible, took 3 different people to succeed in that task. Then wow - it's so dark and dim you really just can't see the numbers at all. What a huge disappointment. Lastly, despite testing the alarm, which seems to work, when it came to work in situ, no alarm at all despite being set correctly. So if you want an alarm clock where you can't see the time and the alarm doesn't work, this is for you! Seriously, it's not fit for purpose and in process of returning. What a time waster.

Very good inexpensive bedroom clock
I bought this for my 7 year old daughter. She loves it and now knows exactly what time she gets out of bed at. No more 6am rises! My older son has one and it’s great because it’s small and portable, inexpensive, and it has an automatic dim light when it gets dark. Battery seems to last months on his one although we haven’t used the alarm too much.

Don't buy
I don't normally write reviews but I really wanted to discourage people from buying this shoddy piece of kit. Firstly the instructions are incomprehensible, they mention pressing certain numbers for setting functions but there are no numbers in the diagram to help. The batteries do not fit properly and keep springing out of the compartment even with the cover on. The clock keeps turning itself off and it's a total waste of money. It would cost me almost as much in petrol and parking to take it to the post office so I've binned it and am now looking for a better quality product - remembering to read the reviews more carefully next time.

Better when it’s dark!
It’s quite a small unit and unless at the correct angle, it may not prove so easy to read in daylight for some ... but when the light begins to fade ... it’s auto light sensor function comes into its own, giving really good easy to read ‘glow visibility’ at night without being in anyway intrusive even in the darkest room. An ideal bedroom clock imo and good value.

Can't see the screen
The display screen is just awful. Can only see digits faintly from certain angles and not at all when press light. Waste of money. Angers me that this will be sent back to go to landfill after all the plastic and travel from China. Why can't people just made decent quality products in the first place?

Too bright at night
The alarm itself works fine, a good volume, and its lightweight and good size, it can be used as a cheap alarm clock, but its essentially very low quality, disappointing. You can't see the clock from most a lot of angles, so chances are you can't see it from lying in bed without picking it up, defeating the purpose of any back-lighting.The screen is back-lit, and either is lit at all times, or becomes brighter when the rooms dark. On either setting I find it too bright and I have to hide it behind a tissue box to shield the light so I can sleep. The white casing is so thin the light glows from it on all sides. I suppose it can double as a little night-light for those who need light to sleep, but I wouldn't recommend it if you need it to be dark to sleep. There's no setting to turn off the light.

Rubbish
I am writing this to warn future customers NOT to buy. It looks neat and was the size I wanted BUT shoddy instructions translated badly from Chinese, light doesn't work at all, can only read the time from close up with the room light on. Wouldn't dare trust that alarm. Not worth the effort of sending it back. I agree fully with all the negative reviews above.

Does everything it says on the box but you can't actually see the time
The product information does not tell you that unless this alarm clock is next to your eyes, you cannot see the actual time rendering it useless for me. Also, the backlight is very bright and there's no option to dim it in case you want to keep it on all night. Battery life is ok, it's yet to run out for me; temperature gauge doesn't really change unless there are significant dips in temperature. I'd give this more stars if I could actually read the time but I can't and that's because the product information (at my time of purchase) does not tell you how close the clock needs to be for you to see the time.
