Great cover
I read many reviews on different covers for the Fire HD 8" tablet. Some stated that the cover was OVER the Speakers. I noticed this one said it opened from left to right to allow the Dolby Speakers to be fully exposed so that is why I purchased it. I am glad I did. It is a great cover easy to insert the tablet and it is very secure. I like the looks and using the kickstand is important to me it works very well. Also I like the exposure of the speakers when I am streaming I think it would decrease the clarity of the sound some if the speakers were covered. I definitely would recommend a friend to purchase this case/cover. Good price and good product. I need to add the case is designed to allow full access to volume control, on/off, ear bud connection and charging connection with the case left on. Very well designed.

Good Quality Cover for Amazon Fire HD
Good quality cover for Fire HD 8 tablet, fits perfectly. Nice magnetic attachment, which wakes up the tablet after opening. Feels good and sturdy while holding. So far no issues. Recommended.

Good Quality, but Poorly Designed imo
The Good: its a good quality product and the faux leathery material feels good in your hands. It feels sturdy and protects the fire tablet without being overly bulky. Lastly, the flexible cover with the magnets works really well. The Bad: its poorly designed in my opinion, because it forces you to use the tablet upside down when using it vertically (meaning the buttons and camera are at the bottom where your hand is holding the device) if you want to open the cover to the left and have the screen on the right. In English, we read left to right and most people's dominant hand is their right. When you open a book you usually hold it in your right hand and flip through pages with your left. However, the way this is designed, to hold the tablet in your right hand and open flap to the left, the device would be upside down - meaning the buttons are on the bottom where your hand is as well as the camera. The design on the fire tablet is meant to have the buttons are at the top so you don't accidentally press something while holding it. To have the fire tablet right side up while holding it vertical with this case you have to open the cover flap to the right and have the screen to the left. I will admit this is a picky criticism and I am sure I will get used to it, but personally it bothers me enough to give it only 4 stars and not the full 5.

A nice, basic tablet case with a landscape stand.
When I travel on vacation, I travel light. Even when I'll be gone for a month everything I bring fits in a small carry-on and "personal item" sized backpack. I use my Fire 8 HD+ tablet quite a bit, including as a "laptop" with a folding keyboard when I travel. This case/stand works really well. It's lightweight, fits well, and holds and protects my tablet when I toss it in my carry-on backpack with other travel gear. Simplicity and function. Exactly what I need in a tablet cover.

Good deal
This is the right price for a case. I would expect a kindle case to open like a book but now they all seem to open the opposite way, it just bothers me. All the ones amazon recommends are twice the price of this one. This one fits perfectly and works great, so don't waste your money lining amazons pockets with money. Jeff can find another way to pay for his ticket to space. Just my opinion. And like I said this is an excellent case and works perfectly.

Not sure if I would buy another one of these...
First of all, I will say that I love my Kindles! I think I have at least 6 of them. This one is nice and I really like the size for carrying around and for travelling. The screen is nice and I have read many books and watched many videos on it. BUT, this model of Kindle has some issues as well...First, if you buy a cover, the way they are set up and the way the main power button is located on this Kindle, it is very easy to accidently hit that button and close whatever you are looking at. Then you have to wake it up again and enter your pass code top continue watching/reading...very annoying and something that was not a problem on any of my prior Kindle Fire tablets. The bigger problem with this particular model, and I have seen it mentioned on other reviews as well, is that someties when the Kindle goes to sleep, it does NOT want to wake up! Many times now, after I put the Kindle down after reading and close the cover, it goes to sleep. Sometimes it will wake up like it should but oter times - probably at leat half the time, it simply will not wake up until you plug it into a charger. Within seconds after sensing the charger it will go through a re-boot and work just fine. And it is not a case of the battery being run down. As soon as it wakes back up, the charge will show as 89% or whatever it was when it went to sleep...And again, while some of the time this is just a nuisance, whe it happens while I am not around a charger, I end up with a totally useless device until I can find a place to plug it in. I have read online about ways you are supposed to be able to get around this...press this button for 20 seconds, press that one for a minute...absolutely nothing works to wake it up except plugging it in to a charger. And that is enough to make me want to throw this one in the garbage and buy another brand of tablet! Amazon need to redesign the button layout and fix this bug!
