Mindfulness and Insight: The Mahasi Method

intellectualized and dense, the 'content' is surrounded by a huge amount of 'context'.
If you want to plow through a lot of pages about Buddhism, be my guest. It's supposed to be a recommended book but IMO only if you are already interested in this subject.Maybe it's me, but I find these kinds of books really dense and repetitive, far more words than my engineering mind wants to grasp. I find myself thinking, 'get to the point'!

Key for Vipassana
This is sort of the ur-text of Vipassana/Insight method that has largely made up modernist and Western Theravada practice for most of a century. While there are valid critiques of the simplification of the Buddha-Dhamma in both buddhological, historical, and sociological terms, it is a core text for mindfulness before it became a self-help buzz word. While it can be repetitive in its presentation and people who know early and Theravada Buddhism will find a lot of the context somewhat obvious, it is an essential book.

Repetition is important in learning.
During the Buddha's time teaching involved repeating at least three times.

Eccellente
Esposizione forse troppo tecnica, ma profonda.
