I didn’t have any expectations, so I’m sorry that the title may be misleading. I needed a lightweight throw to try and stay cool at night, and I came upon this, and thought “why not. At least it’s not going to be hot” but, against all the odds, one side is cool to the touch and the other side is like normal T-shirt material. At night, it will obviously reach my body temperature where it touches me, but there is always a cool bit somewhere. When I pop to the loo in the night, it’s fully cooled down again. Absolute alchemy! Sometimes, if I’m a bit chilly in the early morning, I flip it over, and I’m immediately toasty. I am in love with this blanket. Full disclosure, I’m a “lady of a certain age” and staying cool at night has become a hobby!

Having read other reviews I was a bit hesitant to order this but with the money back guarantee it seemed like a no brainer. It is a bit like a "weighted" blanket so is not light (but not too heavy either) being just right to sleep under. It does quickly adjust to body temperature and I believe that the "cool" side of it only comes into effect when you move around. The bits of the blanket not on your body are cool to the touch, as you move around and move to different parts of the blanket so you get the "cool" effect. I would not say it is "cooling" as such. However, having trialled it on some hot nights it worked for me and was sufficient to give me a better nights sleep than before. I imagine it can be used for much longer than a proper cold mat and therefore probably represents better value for money.

I feel like I'm the world's warmest person at night, tried cooling gel pads, silk pillow cases etc etc, so decided to give this a go, while remaining sceptical. I no longer wake up in the night with sweaty legs, or menopause hot flushes. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't feel cool after a while, but does keep my body temperature down enough to prevent problems, so it works. (Even sleeping with just a sheet didn't work)I'm happy

I have to admit I'm disappointed writing this review as I have the matching pillow case and it works wonderfully.Upon arrival the blanket is very compact and packed well. Its also very lightweight upon delivery. Once opened its nice and soft and very comfortable, One side is clearly cooler to the touch that the other while the other has a nice brushed cotton feeling. Now for the sad part, I bought this because the stupid British weather has been overly warm and its left me unable to sleep at night. , my Initial thought of the blanket was that it was lovely and cooling, however about 10 mins after tucking myself into bed it adjusted to my actual body temperature (I'm a human radiator sadly) and became quite uncomfortable as it just radiated by body heat back towards me. I have tried it for a few nights and while the initial cooling feeling doesn't last more than 10 mins I've found if you can sleep with a fan on it isn't as awful and I eventually got a good nights rest. Sadly in the currently world of our overpriced electrics its perhaps not visible in the long run.

Tends to slip off bed when changing sleeping position

Wish I had ordered a bigger size for the settee but it has been welcome in the heat wave
