Not for Beginners but Great for Medium to Advanced.
This book may be called a Sentence Builder but it is in actuality an advanced grammar book. I worked my way though it because I can relate to the advanced grammar because I am near-advanced in Spanish reading/writing. Unfortunately my Spanish speaking is dismal because I do not speak enough. While I am a beginner Italian student I can relate to the books contents in relationship to my Spanish studies. The book is difficult and I will have to go through it several times more down the road to be able to use it contents, but I do understand what I read, I just won't be able to use it at this beginner's point. I am very glad to have it in my library, however because it has many useful items that I can use that are not in my other grammar/pronoun/preposition books.

Good workbook
This book is well organized and has good exercises in it. The chapters focus on different grammatical subjects (such as imperatives, adjectives, conjunctions, etc.) with clear explanations and examples. One drawback is that some of the exercises can have several right answers, because there are many ways to say the same thing, and the answer key only gives one possibility. So, unless you use this book with a tutor, you will not know if your answer is correct. Overall, I did find it a helpful tool in my self-study of Italian.

Hard to read
All of the grammatical examples in this Kindle edition were fixed images and so come up TOO SMALL to really read easily; the prose text and the exercises are in regular text that can be altered in size. This Kindle version seems much shorter than this workbook series is in soft covers, so it is basically a run through some simple rules with tiny examples and many fewer exercises. Haven't tried to skip back-and-forth to the answer key in the back--which would involve a search for a location (whereas some kind of hyperlink or footnoting system would be better).

The Kindle edition is better..
The Kindle edition is better... automated links to the other parts of the book for quick reviews. Better than my post-it markers.

Great for self teaching
Easy to use, answer pages, easy to understand - well done for the beginner and easy to follow. Consider other books in this series for balanced learning.

Italian sentence builder
I like this book a lot. I am practicing the exercises and am finding that it enhances my Italian. I wish there were CD's that went with the book. This is a wonderful reference book.

Can be useful...
Like all the books in this collection, there are mistakes... HOW one wonders, aren't there two people proof reading it? Never mind, if you have somebody to ask for clarifications, even a blog, then it's ideal for home exercises. It can be a useful book, but if something is unclear don't waste your life over it.

An excellent book
An excellent book in an excellent series. I would recommend this book to fellow students of Italian. It is thorough, interesting and explains those parts of Italian that you thought you knew but didn't really until you read this book.

Lots and lots of exercises tonhelp you practice!
What can you sayv- lots and lots of practice exercises in a very thick book. Bthese green practice books are helping me no end on getting lots of grammar, vocabulary, verbs, and sentance building. Esay to extend the exercises so I could max out with one and two hour sessions without getting bored. Great for intense sessions of written practice.
