The right size, nice materials, not too fragile, not too thick. They packaged it carefully and it arrived nicely in one piece. I am very happy with it!!

I purchased the Dysmio Lighting 8-Inch Diameter Globe - 4-Inch Fitter Opening Handblown Gloss White Glass Globe. It has a glossy clean glass finish on the outside and a nice frosted white color that diffuses the light . This was used for a bathroom ceiling light fixture that had a four inch diameter opening on the three screw attachment holder but no globe. Just having a bare light bulb exposed not only looks aesthetically poor but it its a potential safety hazard since the bulb is not protected from being broken if bumped and over time moister could damage the exposed socket wiring.This glass globe had been shipped in a double box with shatter resistant bubble wrap packaging. I cleaned a little bit of dust off the outside with a damp paper towel. Then I removed a small product sticker and installed it right away. It fits perfectly and it looks fantastic. I would recommend customers double check fitment by measuring the base attachment with a ruler before purchasing any of these replacement globes. I can't speak for the plastic globes that are offered on Amazon but this hand blown frosted glass globe is an excellent product. Five out of five stars!

My 20+ year old ceiling fan bulb shade never felt sturdy in the fixture even though I kept adjusting the three screws at the fitter. It finally fell out and broke into a million pieces. I was unable to remember the diameter of the original globe shade but made a guess, and I measured the diameter at the three screw tips for the fitter size. So I bought the 8" diameter glass shade with 4" fitter. I measure the diameter of the new shade at about 7.9" and the fitter at 3 7/8" with a tape measure. The outer lip of the fitter had a slight irregularity which didn't affect installing it. It was easy to install after I first damp clothed the exterior ad interior, and used isopropyl to remove the residue left from the label I removed. After cleaning the inside and outside I noticed what I thought was dust/debris in the bottom of the inside, over maybe a 2" diameter circular area, but it's in white shade coating, whatever it is. I can't see it from the outside with the 100W (equivalent) LED bulb turned on. It gives uniform illumination with a slightly yellow color which may be the bulb itself since it's "soft white". The shade is very light weight but seems sturdy. The Amazon packaging seemed risky, their thin cardboard box with some thin bubble wrap and three little air cushions inside, but it didn't brake or have any damage from shipping. It's not supposed to be Sheer so I gave it a 5 rating for seeming to have a uniform white coating. I wish Amazon had a way to filter on Fitter size instead of just shade dimensions, but I finally found the shade I wanted.

Lovely. The little “seeded” bubbles give a relatively plain globe a bit of interest. They arrived well packed and intact. Very lightweight. The lightbulbs you use will be visible, so if you’re picky about that sort of thing, you might want to use retro looking “Edison” bulbs instead of a regular lightbulb.

This globe cover did what I wanted it to do and at a reasonable price.

I love these! They are simple and add a modern touch to our unique home. We put Edison bulbs in them and they look so charming. They weren’t as thick as I imagined, but they are sturdy enough and are good value for your money. Like others have mentioned, the barcode sticker on the glass is a little annoying to remove, and some of them came a bit dusty, so they required a quick cleaning before hanging them. Overall they are worth it, and an easy way to change the look of your home. I’m very pleased!

I thought I ordered the small rim and received a huge glass. The problem is that I was moving and I just opened it a month later. So I'll take the L on this one. Seems like good quality, just not what I need.

Was surprised it was plastic and not glass
