Hydroponic Herb Growing Kit Set, Self-Watering Mason Jar Herb Garden Starter Kit Indoor, Window Herbs Garden, Grow Your Own Plants from Organic Seeds (Basil, Parsley and Oregano)

I read the reviews and noticed some people had difficulty width the seeds turning into healthy plants and I was nervous to buy these. I decided to get clear cups to use as a mini greenhouse that I kept on until the plants touched the top or sides and everyone successfully grew. I really am glad I purchased these and am confident I will get a lot of use in the years to come.

After waiting one week to uncap the sprouts, the basil was incredible promising with many little sprouts. I was so excited. The parsley and cilantro were a little slower to start and never sprouted as much as the basil, but there were quite a few that did grow to be about 3-4 inches tall. I couldn’t believe how well this system was working!Then slowly everything became riddled with mold, I reached out to the company and they said the mold is good for fighting off bacteria?? I was hoping to get a replacement at this price. Well I believe them and continued to try to make the herbs thrive.It was only downhill from there. Each sprout slowly died, the basil was completely wiped out. My poor cilantro and parsley tried holding out with a few stems remaining.This system will simply never yield herbs. I used liquid plant food, switched water every week and had ample sunlight. This is a very expensive science experiment that is bound to fail. Look elsewhere if you hope to actually use herbs like I did.

The items were just as advertised! The plants were sprouting in 7 days just like the description wrote could happen. All 3 plants are 1" to 2.5" inches in height now. Good buy!!!

I really wanted to love this but I gave it as a gift and when I finally got to see it...it was horrible! Almost $50 wasted! The tops got mold. Cute idea with the mason jars but the herbs grewabout 3 inches before they died :(Very disappointed! I gave it a 2 star for being giftable because it did look nice on the window sill for a bit.

The media could not be loaded.  3 weeks old progress. The rosemary is a little leggy so have to rotate the jar every couple of days.Not sure if your supposed to thin these out or not? Will do additional research but have a feeling you should. Might end up potting in dirt at some point but will leave them in the jars for as long as possible.I used distilled water!! Some of the pics from other reviews show white stuff on the medium which doesn’t look like mold to me. White mold is often seen when the seeds are starting to sprout and looks like cobwebs. That white stuff is most likely chemicals in tap water.The item is a bit pricey but the system is reusable so over time it should be worth it. Just toss the used up herb and use coco coir and start some new seeds.

*Update*So this is 3 months later, still small and I had to cut off moldy part quite often. I’m not sure if it’s going to grow more from now. It’s been this size for a while. One of them is not what I got at the beginning because it didn’t sprout, I ordered a new one.I though it was a bit expensive but worth it! It so easy and looks pretty and it grows pretty well!

Very disappointed in this item. Purchased as a Christmas present for friends that are garden enthusiasts and have a summer herb garden. Thought it would be a way for them to enjoy all year round. It took forever to arrive and due to Covid, our gift exchange was delayed by 2 weeks. They followed all directions and started to get tiny skinny sprouts. And then the 1/2 inch sprouts fell over and stopped growing. See pics. Don’t waste your money unless you just want some mason jars!

Great. The spices were not lavender, mint and oregano didn’t take. I have no idea what grew but it is not lavender or mint. Basil was ok. Sage was bare acceptable, suppose to be cilantro, was not. Parsley no flavor.
