Maximize Your Dropcam/Nest Cam's Potential With This Quality Outdoor All Weather Case!!!
As With Other Dropcase products I've purchased, this case is quality made and has endured the rainy and wintery conditions of the midwest. It's easy to install your Nest Cam or Dropcam and you can feel confident the camera won't be exposed to undesirable elements. The clarity of night vision with this case is excellent, I've had no glare or hazing issues whatsoever. Last but not least, I've had awesome customer service experiences on the couple of occasions that I've emailed Dropcases with questions. Their staff is always prompt with responses and seemed very sincere in their efforts to satisfy their customers! I've definitely buy this product again and/or recommend it to others!

Not waterproof. My camera is ruined
The item was not too difficult to set up with the new directions emailed by the vendor. However the camera case is not waterproof. After just a few days, my camera stopped working completely. When I first got it, I noticed it kept going offline in the rain but figured it was wifi interference. After a few times it stopped completely so I took it apart and it was wet inside.

I returned this case and went with another Dropcase instead. Construction was well done, and sleek design. Unfortunately, unlike some of the other Dropcases, the Nestcam just fits in passively and I could not get it give me a 100% nightvision look without some very slight distortion. I went instead with one of the other Dropcases, where the Nestcam pops into position, and my nightvision is 100%. They need a slight redesign so there is a positive lock with the Nestcam in place so the nightvision is not an issue.

Actual Product Review, not a free evaluation.
I bought this case to mount my Nest cam outside. First off, it is VERY well made. The parts are sturdy, fit perfectly, and the o-ring seal design is robust.Mounting on the exterior wall was very straightforward. All hardware is included, although the mounting screws are pretty small and easily stripped. I recommend drilling pilot holes if it's being mounted into wood. The included USB cable had ample length go through the wall and down to an inside wall outlet, which is a great feature.Once installed, aiming the gooseneck was a little tedious due to the connection lag, but that's not the case's fault. At least the gooseneck is sturdy and hasn't budged despite some fairly heavy wind gusts on that part of the house. The case has held up great despite 6" of rain in the last three days, so I have no reservations about its weather sealing abilities. The night vision works perfectly. Whatever type of front lens they use has zero reflection. Really. Now for the bad: I'm having a lot of connection issues after mounting in the case. I'm still trying to figure out if this is a problem with the case, the location of the camera in relation to my wifi router, or a heat issue. If I can confirm it's a wifi issue, then I will change this to 5 stars, as that's not the case's fault, and I honestly love everything else about this case. If it's a heat issue, I'm going to drop this to two stars, since heat mitigation is an advertised feature, and it isn't very useful if the camera keeps overheating and turning off.

Works fine even outside at -10F, rain and snow
Very happy with the case and highly recommend. I was skeptical that it would work outside, but still wanted to try even if it kills the camera. My Nest/Dropcam has been running during the coldest weather this winter (up to -10F) and still working fine. We'll see how it performs in Summer during the heat.

Arrived Broken - No Reply
The product arrived with a cracked dome/lens. Seller never returned my reply to an after-order survey where I reported the problem and asked for an exchange. I ended up missing the deadline to return while waiting for their reply, which is totally my own fault. I got busy and thought I would eventually hear back. This is an outdoor product and should be better made. Their prior product, while much more bulky and less attractive, was better quality. I still use a few of them and they have held up well. I'll consider future products from this company but will want to see some good comments first and will return products via the Amazon return process rather than try to communicate with the company via their surveys. I hope other buyers have a better experience. I would like to hear if anybody is aware of a manufacturer that makes a higher quality product with the same sleek look this product has, as it visually is a vast improvement over the older version.

the instruction card is completely useless, but the company did just send a follow ...
Installed this case by my front door this weekend. As stated in other reviews, the instruction card is completely useless, but the company did just send a follow up email with better instructions. The good:- Comes with a USB power cable already threaded through the gooseneck.- Power cord travels through the gooseneck, which allowed me to install the case such that the cord isn't accessible to anyone on my front porch. It travels from the base of the gooseneck through a hole I drilled in my wall, and is plugged in inside my garage.- Case is very nicely sized (not gigantic like the other models). The bad/so-so:- Instruction card was worthless.- The mounting base on the unit I received was rotated 90 degrees, such that the cord would have come out the side instead of the bottom. Wasn't a problem for me since my cord goes immediately through the wall.- In order to thread the USB power cable through the gooseneck, Dropcases first cuts the cable, slides it through, and then reconnects it with heat shrink tubing. Really that is fine, although it was surprising at first when I saw the cable had been cut at one point. But ultimately I ended up cutting the cable in the same place again so that I only had to drill a tiny hole in my wall to pass the cable through, rather than a gigantic hole to pass the whole USB Type A plug through. Once I passed the cord through the wall, I reconnected it using heat shrink tubing, just as they had done. All in all, this is *exactly* the kind of case I was looking for, and looks rather nice by my front door, and I love the fact that I was able to install it without a cable showing at all.
