Fun, functional, and durable
Fantastic way to slow down a fast eater. My lab mix has been using this for 9 months and the feeder is still in good condtion in spite of being chewed on and tossed around when he was first learning how to use it. It took him a couple months to perfect his technique, but he still has to work at it to get the last few pieces out. It's great for small or medium size kibble, but large kibble can be too big for the holes. The food container is easy to take apart and reassemble for cleaning. I highly recommend this to make your dog's meals enriching and entertaining for all.

So far, so good!
I've had this for about 3 weeks and so far it's been great. It slows feeding time for our 1 year old puppy. He likes it, it seems to be good quality. I was able to easily wash it by running it under water (I WOULD NOT put it in the dishwasher). The parts seem to be sturdy and safe. So far it's been a great addition to pique his interest and slow down feeding time.

Great product from a great company
I've reviewed another food dispenser from Outward Hound positively, and I like this one also. Well-designed, fairly sturdy, easy to use (for both me and the dog), easy to clean. The barrel-shaped container comes apart for cleaning, but I recommend being careful, and possibly washing by hand. This was a replacement for the same product, which broke when I took it apart to wash it (this is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). But even if that happened again, I'd probably buy it again given the reasonable price, because it's such a great tool for getting the pup to work for her food. In general, I've had great products from this company since I discovered them a few years ago, and I look for them both online and in the stores.

Great for your dog, any age or size, and as a gift - highly, highly recommend
I have bought many of this brand of dog puzzles for my dogs. I decided to get this as a gift for someone that had a new hyper energy dog and told her that this might be for the dog but the joy in watching the dog figure it out would be a gift for her, then when she needs a good enrichment toy to get her dog's energy down a few notches she would remember the joy of the gift again. This is a starter level puzzle toy for dogs, but I still use this one alongside the harder ones for mine as it is a favorite. They love this one. It is very durable and has lasted for years. It isn't noisy to use it, cleans up easily, and they do have to figure it out and work through it even after they learn. I highly recommend this as a gift to your dog or as a gift that will bring a lot of joy and happines to a dog and their human.

An ESSENTIAL Puzzle Feeder for every dog (and good for cats too)
The media could not be loaded. I’ve bought my baby several puzzle feeders and food toys. This is one of his favorites, I think because it provides pretty random/intermittent reinforcement - as you can see in the video, sometimes a lot spews out like fireworks and sometimes very little comes out (depending on the force he spins it with and the amount of kibble in there). It also has held up well over the past several months. Another one similar to this had legs and bolts to adjust the height and in my Aussie’s puppy-velociraptor phase, he chewed it up (it still worked fine but looked pretty ratty). This one has bothering interesting to chew other than the food it disperses. It is also easier and quicker to fill than the kind of puzzle feeders with multiple slots, so it’s great for when you’re low on time and want your pup to be busy while you leave to go to work or other things. My Aussie actually prefers to eat from puzzle feeders, toys, or in training sessions opposed to kibble just in a bowl or slow feeder (how boring!)Even one of our cats sometimes sneaks over and paws at it to get some of his kibble when he’s not around.

If your dog is smart... or destructive.. or a puppy... they'll destroy this too
I'll sum it up here, more detail below. First time using a IQ toy from here, second one ever (so he's no pro) and it broke within 10 minutes of him using it with me next to him. If you're wanting to get this to keep your destructive, or active, smart dog distracted while you're gone, they'll probably just break this one too.I got this to entertain my 9 month old border collie pup to keep him from chewing or getting bored, and also for mental stimulation. We have only had him for about a month now his is the first Nina Ottoson toy that I have ever gotten him, the only other IQ toy was from the dollar store which he figured out fairly quickly (but it is still in tact). Even though it is his first, I knew he was smart so I skipped right to a level 2 puzzle thinking it would be somewhat of a challenge. It took him about a minute to figure it out, and then I realized I had done it wrong so then I set it up correctly (the more advanced way) and that only took him about five minutes with my help. Eventually he got better and figured out the flap is the "lock" that stops it so he decided to chew off the fin. The first fin snapped in half, with me next to him, so I assumed it just broke/he chewed it in half. The next time he used it (mind you this is all in the day I got it) he easily pulled out another fin. Main point is, this is supposed to stop destructive behaviors and I was hoping I could use this to keep him entertained when I leave etc, but I'm afraid if I leave him with it too long it'll be in pieces when I get back.I don't usually write reviews, its a great concept, he really likes it and its fun to watch him figure it out, BUT it is not very durable/chewable etc for the target audience which is active dogs, it wont hold up, and he could have easily choked on the plastic pieces that popped off.

Favorite game
My dog is a 1- year old lab and highly energetic. This is one of her favorite “games” to play at night. There are ways to make it easier or more challenging. She loves it! She is a chewer but I just sit with her while she has it and she has not tried to destroy it at all.

Nice product
The dog finds it fun if, we put his favorite treats in it. The cat loves it when she is bored. The dog likes steeling the cat treats, so we found a treat they can share, which the dog leaves alone. Overall it's a good boredom buster for 2 out of 3 pets. It's well made. The directions on training our pets to use it was useful and clear.I am pleased and would suggest it to others.
