Dead in a year even without use
Purchased it in Feb 2022 as it was the only good capture card available (all Elgato models were out of stock everywhere so after tracking for a month finally ordered it).Packing and build quality were great, tested it with OBS and recorded a few hours of gameplay from Playstation over a couple of weekends to test.Never really started streaming/uploading anything and it was kept in a closet (safe inside a hard disk case) till Dec 2023, thought of starting a Youtube channel in 2024 and finally it was opened again.To my surprise I discovered that it no longer works, its HDMI output port probably no longer outputs processed input (passthrough) as I can see the console screen in OBS but nothing on my TV. Tried with another TV and again there was no output.Basically its dead just sitting idle in a closet.Conclusion: Strictly avoid, and choose something well established like Elgato products. Internet seems to be full of issues reported by users in Razer RipSaw/HD, though there are no or negligible complaints with regards to Elgato and AverMedia (other 2 brands I had considered).
