Return of the Jedi (Star Wars, Episode VI) Paperback – October 1, 2004

I don't have that much interest in Star Wars. In fact, I don't think I ever saw this movie when it was released during my childhood. (I think I remember watching one or two of these when I was babysitting...)Anyway, decades pass, and I have a son who is in raptures over Star Wars. OK. I thought it would be a passing phase, but he's still going strong, so I use Star Wars to encourage reading (and saving money -- he wants the LEGO sets.)The junior novelizations are great because the movie screenplay unwinds on the page. Awesome. He liked this one very well and has re-read it a half-dozen times. I notice him using more complicated verbs as a result of the books -- that's great.The books aren't literature, but he did his summer reading list books in June. July was for his own choices. He read for HOURS. SometimesI had to set a timer to tell him when he had to STOP reading and come be part of the family again.I recommend the books. (175 - 200 pages each)

Great adaption for younger readers! Only complaint is that if you have a struggling reader, some of the vocabulary is still very elevated. It makes the text very challenging. Between the Science Fiction/Star Wars jargon (which contains names of ships and creatures that can be hard to read/pronounce) and the elevated vocabulary, it's been a difficult read, despite the fact he's an avid Star Wars fan. That's the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars.

If you haven't read the original printing of The Return of the Jedi you will like this version. As I stated with the Empire Strikes Back this is a movie adaptation. A lot of text and background as removed from the story that have it more flavor in the Original print but still a great read.

My 10 yo son wanted this for Christmas. He really likes the Ewoks. He read it within two days, having a hard time putting it down. He is really into many things Star Wars and likes this one. He is now reading the other books. This was a great purchase. I would expect my 8 yo son to pick them up as well to read. The pictures in the middle make this a book for those into Star Wars.

my son loves star wars and this is perfect for him at his age level.

Its in great condition

My kids love Star Wars and the book is great to read before watching the movies.

I bought these for my 8yr old great nephew and he loves it.

Good book

I brought this because i thought it was similar to the older versions of the story (the classics) as it was my error in purchase no issues were spoken of.

I'm a Star Wars fan and was excited to get these books however they turned out to be not exactly what I thought they would be.
