It Is ... What It Is
Not sure what to say about this. I don't even know what it is. Looks like dirt and twigs. Makes a nice, though weak, cup of hot chocolate like stuff. You'll probably want to add sugar (maybe even salt) to bring out some flavor. Let it sit for a bit and it will thicken a little. Not your mom's cup of cocoa; far from it. But it's healthy and doesn't suck. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with these two (expensive) bags 'cause I'm not crazy about it, but I have a feeling this product will mate well with SOMETHING in my kitchen bistro. Give it a try if you're in an experimental mood!

This is a GREAT and HEALTHY drink! Hikers and motorcycle campers, read this!
Lifelong coffee drinker here. As I get older, I've been looking to reduce my caffeine and dairy (I always add a little half-n-half to my regular coffee to neutralize the acids and avoid burning a hole in my stomach!). I've tried tea, but it's just too "thin". I've tried Teeccino, which was more coffee-like than tea, but still didn't cut it. Enter cacao..."the food of the gods" for the Aztecs and Mayans. I am REALLY impressed with this ancient American delicacy, particularly the double chocolate flavor. I throw one heaping tablespoon of cacao into my 16-ounce mug, add hot water, let it sit for around 5 minutes, and then pop in my nifty little JoGo Straw and drink with the grounds still in the cup. Absolutely delicious, and healthy, too. For me, this works in place of my beloved coffee. Clean-up is stoopid easy with the JoGo. This is also a great portable setup for hikers and motorcycle campers. Highly recommend!

Good but...
Definitely needs an acquired taste. We added a scoop to our coffee grounds as the taste was too new and too strong. That being said, very good and feels healthy

Overpriced at $20z Not my thing, but not horrible.
Tase is ok, but it’s weak when brewed like coffee. The chocolate taste will make you want to add sugar. I could see this being good if you brewed it and added hot cocoa powder. Not worth $20 for sure.

Not exactly what I hoped
Latest. The problem. This product might be more successful IF the cacao was pelletized to a uniform size and shape like coffee. Mixing smallish pieces with powder makes real brewing impossible. Once wet, cacao absorbs a lot of water (high water holding capacity).Other uses? This might work in cake and muffin batter./////////Original viewIt appears to be chopped up cacao. I tried it twice in a French press and learned I got around 5 oz of drink using 16 oz of water. The cacao absorbs way too much water to be useful or worth the trouble. Of course they tell users on the bag not to use paper filters. I found that pouring it through a typical sieve It merely clogged up the sieve. The claims on the back seem rather unsubstantiated. Okay, it has flavonoids but there's no assessment of how much flavonoid. It's zero sugar which makes sense or very low sugar. It contains theobromine. I didn't get much kick from it. It says that it's loaded with natural mood enhancers. So there's no assessment of how many enhancers for the mood you get. And the last one on the back of the bag is magnesium for bone brain and heart health. They listed ingredients say absolutely nothing about how much magnesium it has. There's a single comment about 2 mg 20 mg etc etc. maybe it is nanograms?I have no idea what I'm going to do with the rest of the bag. It might be possible to put it in my grinder and make it super super fine like Hershey's powdered chocolate and see where that takes me.The impression I get from the description on the bag and the description on Amazon is that this was going to act something like coffee grounds. This is nowhere near or even close to being coffee grounds. You get a small amount to actually drink and a larger portion of it that is made up of soggy cacao fines.

Good but too expensive
Love it, tastes delicious. For us diabetics, it is a great drink. It tastes like unsweetened hot chocolate. I only wish that it came in a larger size so it would last longer and that it wasn't so expensive!

Pricey but very tasty
This item was shipped very quickly, arrived in excellent condition and was very good. The only problem is it’s very pricey for the amount you receive.
