How dicemats ~Should~ be
Truly a simplistic and marvelous mat. That's the short version. The longer version well...It looks good — Like, really good. Pulling this out of a backpack or, dare I say, scroll case stops things. Gamers know what it is in an instant, everyone else has to kind of process that you just pulled a rolled up something out of a bag in the modern day. It's not tooled leather, but for a usable mat/caddy, it's great. There's no oil (like leather gets from maintenance) and it doesn't keep a curl so it drops and is ready for use. It does feel a little lightweight but, once again, that's mostly because it ~isn't~ actual leather... the lightness does have the added benefit of not adding anything appreciable if you have multiples with you.Zipper is smooth and tucked near the seam. Stitching was good on mine as well, no noticeable tangles machined in and the binding only really there if you're looking for it. The edges are rolled in with the mat and either fused or fused and stitched which should keep them from pulling up over time. Still, even when rolled over, the mat has a very low profile, so it doesn't get in the way.Color was uniform and accurate to my order and, unlike a stain, will likely stay that way through time. After all, it's not a surface treatment or paint that can wear away so much as the color of the material itself. It did smell like vinyl when I initially removed it, but a week later having just had it sitting rolled up on a bookshelf, it was better... an almost sweet smell. Offgassing is an expected result of using some materials. Bad news is that if you can't stand vinyl, you're out of luck for the first few days. The good news is that it quickly fades and unless you really love to sniff your gaming supplies (hey, no judgements here), you'll never notice it past the day you first remove it from the package.About the only thing that could have made it better was that the core was just as soft as the rest of the mat. It holds your dice, but also acts as the center of the rolled up mat making it a bit floppy if you don't have dice with you. This can be remedied quite easily by simply putting a few good old fashioned pencils inside (I'd recommend sticking a nickle or dime inside on both ends to protect it from sharpened pencils, btw) or even just cutting a thin piece of card stock and rolling it to fit the internal space. Honestly, unless you normally use dice mats without dice, it's not a problem.... but if you just have to have the mat and forget your dice (how? HOW? It has a literal spot for them!) it's a very easy fix for something that really isn't a problem in the first place.Overall, a great product and one I'm happy to have.Oh, and the pen/pencil loop on the one side is a nice touch. Might as well help folks remember their writing implements.... we all know THAT GUY always forgets.

Very Happy with Purchase
Just received this today and I am very happy with the purchase. The pictures on the product page are accurate and the overall feel and quality are more than what I expected. I bought this as a gift for my daughter who is just learning to play DnD and some of their future games will be outside at local parks. I though this would be perfect for her to carry her dice and in case they play on a concrete table, it rolls out to become a surface to roll your dice on. The stitching looks great and the dice pocket is wide enough for 2 sets of 7 dice. When rolled up the 2 latching push buttons feel very surdy as to prevent it from unrolling if carried in a bag. On a separate order I purchased her a leather notebook to record her stats. I wish I would have saw this first so that I could have the same color for both. Awesome Product and I would highly recommend it.

Great functioning product. No regret on purchase.
When choosing the product, I actually had looked at several different versions of the same design. Some had strings to tie the rolled matt off and some had snap buttons similar but appeared to be a lower quality. Having chosen the matt from your shop on Amazon, I am very pleased and would give you a 5 out of 5 on this product. During D&D sessions my friends typically use foldable trays that snap together and look like little ashtrays, but it makes rolling mostly just dropping the dice into the tray. I wanted more freedom and the ability to actually roll my dice rather than drop it on a number because it feels all around better. The matt is exactly what I expected. It is easy to roll out and lays flat, no silly folding or rounded shape. When done it holds 2 sets of dice and can snap together. While the roll feels a little loose when folded up, this is in my opinion a good thing because there is less stress on the buttons helping the product last for a longer time than if it was a tighter fit. Great product and again 5 out of 5 for me.

Nice piece of "lore"
I love it. My inner nerd is very satisfied. It looks like an old scroll of leather or a tome from one of the games I play.In terms of quality the stitches are clean, the zipper seems secure and operational. The fabric is soft and looks like leather. The surface for rolling is great and protects your dice and the table it's on. The pouch holds 2 full sets of dice easily. Time will tell how it holds up but for now I'm very pleased (day 2).The only thing I'm trying to figure out is if I want to keep my metal dice in the pouch as I'm noticing they are scratching each other up. This isn't a problem of the item but more around my decision to store metal without any padding.

Must Buy Item, amazing
The material is soft and pliable. The zippered pocket is sturdy. The entire design of this item is very well though out. Having dice storage and a place to quietly roll dice is very helpful in a library setting where we play D&D often. It is much higher quality than I anticipate for the a price that it sells for. Even the dice that they include are nice. I’ve gotten many compliments from my friends on this mat.

Great little dice mat!
This little mat is awesome for the price. It's soft, yet durable, and looks great! I honestly was not expecting something this nice for the price tag. I bought this to keep my Warhammer AOS dice in, in which it will hold about 15D6 (16mm). If I had to give any tips, I would say adding a slight raised edge would be very nice to prevent dice roll-off. I would absolutely pay an extra $5 for this feature. But still, it's not enough to take off any stars. In my opinion, the set is perfect for the price. Highly recommended!

Man, I Feel Like An Adventurer
I figured for the price that I'd get something "usable" but not necessarily great. I have to say, I'm impressed! The leather is very flexible and lays flat the very first time its used. Very nice thickness for rolling dice too. I like the dice storage and pen holder also! Buttons clasp easily and aren't a pain, y'know? This will certainly work better than my previous not-so-great-or-durable dice tray.
