Learn Android Studio 4: Efficient Java-Based Android Apps Development
R**M
Quick and easy intro to Android using Java in Android Studio 4 & no errors so far (by Chp 9)
I'm reading this electronically elsewhere, but wanted to review this here to support it.I've flown through very smoothly to chapter 9 so far over a few days now and then (it's not long) and so far no confusion, no problems, no errors, which is rare for any programming book (I also don't expect anything that can't be quickly solved). It's one of the few Java-based Android books out there right now and may be the only up-to-date one right now given the Kotlin hype (I'll get to that when my first Android app affords me more time).Already knowing Java for a 'very long time', it's hard to gauge how easy it'd be to understand, but everything is spelled out step-by-step and everything is explained step-by-step, too. The explanations really help you go forward and immediately make your own progress using Android documentation and Android Studio, which many books lack. It's not just do this, do that for a very specific and basic part of a specific app. It's positively general and shortish, but to the point and enough to move forward on your own very quickly.Perfect as a quickstart to Android in Java. I think after this book, if you know Java and basic design patterns, you could grab an advanced/detailed book/course or just continue with Google's Android dev doc on your own very easily.
