I am painting my family room which has 16 ft high ceilings. Obviously I must use an extension ladder to trim the ceiling and walls. I had new hardwood floors installed a couple months ago and wanted to have an extra layer of protection for the floors.I GOT BOTH PROTECTION AND NON-SLIP.Yes, I am crazy but I actually put 3.5 mil plastic sheeting on the floor as a drop cloth and put the mat on the floor. Even on the plastic the mats do not move. I love these things. Bought two and very happy I did. I place one mat and then move the ladder from one mat to the other to reposition. No slipping, no damage to the floors.VERY VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!!!And yes, as some of the other reviews state, it did have a strong petroleum smell when it first arrived. I took it out of the plastic bag it was shipped in and put them in my garage for several days. The smell is almost gone. I would not let this deter you from buying this product. It is a rubber based product (made from petroleum that makes it non-slip.Don't second guess it, buy this product and be safe!!!

They worked but smell terrible. Much thinner than what I expected and the underside is hollow. It basically a sheet of very flexible plastic that came out of a form pressed to shape. I thought it would be heavier and more body to it.

I installed a Trex deck, but I have to put a ladder on the deck to clean gutters and siding. I used this mat and it works great and protects the deck.

I purchased this product for my ladder to do some indoor painting on high walls. I felt secure on my ladder the entire time. Great purchase!!

We bought this for our condo maintenance staff. They have been using it since delivery and report that they are pleased with it. It provides them with more stability and security as they climb and work on the ladders. We were concerned that the rubber would lose its grip as it ages and weathers, but at least after a few weeks, it has held up well.

Nice looking ladder mats...however, very strong petrochemical smell that will not go away. Aired out, outside on porch for near three weeks to no avail. Smell was not tolerable and was difficult to get off your hands if you touched the product. These mats were leaching something. Would not recommend.

I purchased this mat to perform a job that would be inside on wood floors. It not only protected the floors, but gave the ladder a sure footing
