Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Adolescents with Eating Disorders: 9781462542734: Medicine & Health Science Books @ desertcart.com Review: Partly informative partly outdated - Pro: The book is a great Stepping stool into diving into how to work one-on-one with an adolescent with an eating disorder. I would recommend this book to someone just starting to learn about eating disorders and cognitive behavioral therapy but I would warn them by stating the cons below. Cons: This book implies that CBT-E is the gold standard for treating eating disorders but there are other great tools such as Family Based Therapy. It will depend on the patient. Also, it didn’t sit right with me that the authors state eating disorders are predominately female patients. On paper that may be true but in reality male adolescents are just as likely to develop an eating disorder, but they are more likely to hide it and therefore, won’t be diagnosed. That is why the research shows males are less likely to be diagnosed Review: Buen libro
