Easy Stash Quilts

One of my favorite books
I love this book. Carol Doak explains all about paper piecing as you would expect in this kind of book, and she does that extremely well but she gives us much more. There is a whole section on color and value. Advice on choosing fabrics, with lots pictures to show what she means. There are traditional blocks as well and wonderful pictures of finished quilts. It's one of my favorite books of Carol's and I have most of them. There is so much helpful information, it really exceeded my expectations. You will not be sorry if you purchase this book.

Smashing Stash
THis is the best Carol Doak book yet! I loved all the layouts and colors. You even get some quilting suggestions. I've used this to make two quilts already and am now working on a wall hanging. Carol's directions are clear and easy to follow. I've looked at this book so much, it just may wear out.

Easy Stash Quilts is a winner!
I perused this book and found it to be very interesting. Then I noticed that in the back of the book there was a CD rom. WOW! This was a fabulous addition to the book. On it is a half hour workshop with Carol Doak and Nancy Martin, showing you exactly how to choose fabrics from your stash for absolutly stunning quilts. I canot tell you what a wonderful addition this CD rom is to help visually explain the information included in the book. The patterns are exciting, the pictures are great. Some of the blocks are traditionally pieced and some are foundation pieced. This is a fabulous book. I'm a quilting teacher and I plan to encourage my students to buy this book.

Beautiful book - but not for the weekend quilter
Easy Stash Quilts is full of eye candy - each page will have your mouth watering and your fingers itching to dig through your fabric stash. But... Carol is a master of her craft, and this book is more suited for the advanced quilter or someone who has to have at least a yard of EVERYTHING at your quilt store. Beginners and those low on fabs will feel a little in over their heads - especially with instructions like "pull out 15 medium fushias". (And God help you if you only figured there were two in existance)Beautiful book - filled with inspiration and quilts that we all like to aspire to make one day - a must for advanced quilters. Beginners, start out with her "Your First Quilt Book : (Or It Should Be!)" and work your way up to Easy Stash Quilts.

Part of Book is Missing.
I received this book and immediately noted that the CD that was part of the book was missing from the pouch in the back cover. I immediately informed the seller of this and the matter was ignored. I sent another complaint regarding the CD and again received no acknowledgement.Today I sent a third message to the seller, hoping it was an oversight, due to the festive holidays. With the CD missing, the book is of no use.J.
