Very Secure!
This is an excellent chain for securing gates, doors, etc. With the cloth cover over the chain links, it insures no damage to gates, doors...

Customer support is top notch!!! Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
I've had this chain about two years now, I use it every once in a while to lock up my motorcycle. It's worked well for me, the lock is robust and a nice piece of Italian manufacturing. The bag it comes in is handy for storage, and the sleeve on the chain protects it.I wasn't thrilled with how the galvanized coating had held up on my chain, so I emailed them. Some links were fine and some were losing their coating after only rather light use (my area being humid probably doesn't help). The chain with the minor galvanizing issue is pictured above. They immediately responded, and after confirming my purchase sent out a whole new chain with new sleeve and bag. That's almost unheard of these days. Being able to quickly get a response from a domestic based employee and having them send out a new one that arrives within days is a major plus. I'll continue to support this American company for all my chain and lock needs from now on. Companies that back up their products like they did need to be rewarded, and I will happily pay a slight premium for the peace of mind knowing the produce quality locking systems that they stand by.

This is a great combination. The chain is harder than bolt-cutter jaws ...
This is a great combination. The chain is harder than bolt-cutter jaws --see various youtube videos on Pewag security chain-- and is coated to prevent rust. The cloth cover is a welcome addition. The padlock fits the chain perfectly in a way that prevents bolt cutters from reaching the shackle of the lock. The lock is apparently difficult for anyone other than an expert to pick --see youtube videos on picking the Viro Panzer-- but spare keys can still be made reasonably cheaply. The padlock is armor-plated (even on the sides, which apparently is an improvement over earlier similar Viro locks that exposed softer brass surfaces on the sides).Together, this lock and chain give a security mechanism that defeats even very strong bolt cutters, which is what I was after. Obviously it can be defeated by an angle grinder (as any lock or chain can), and possibly by drilling out the lock (although I haven't seen that tested). However, attacks with power tools would be somewhat difficult without putting the lock or chain in a vise, and more importantly would cause huge amounts of sparks and noise for over a minute. That's about the best security that it's possible to achieve with just a padlock and chain (given the amount of research that I was willing to do).The price (from Ratchet Strap Warehouse) is great too -- significantly cheaper than I was able to find equivalent secure lock and chain elsewhere. Both of the padlocks that I have received have worked very smoothly, with no sign of the stiff/wedged shackle that was reported in one review on Amazon. But just in case, I plan to occasionally squirt some WD-40 into the keyway and shackle housing.Note that both the lock and the chain are very heavy, which means that the 3' chain might sometimes be the better option. E.g. I ordered two of the 6' chains (and locks) for securing vehicles and trailers, but I also want to secure a gate that is in frequent use. As I don't need 6' length of chain for the gate, and the weight of 6' chain makes it somewhat unwieldy, I just ordered a 3' chain (with the same lock).Update on 9/11/17: Instead of WD-40, I've learned that it's best to use non-stick Teflon as a lubricant for padlocks. I'm using this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003UTX0R8/Also, my earlier statement about "spare keys can still be made reasonably cheaply" is still yet to be verified, as none of our local locksmiths (in WA, USA) had the necessary blanks to be able to make keys for the Viro locks. I'm still trying to find a way to obtain spare keys.

A goliath chain with some serious heft
I bought this when I started riding my motorcycle because I wanted to chain up the bike while at work. It's heavy- heavy enough that I could easily use it for self defense! Probably 20-30 pounds of hardened steel.I appreciated that it has a fabric sheath, because it's easier to handle and doesn't scratch my bike's rims. The build quality seems titanic, I couldn't imagine a couple of guys quickly getting through this without some serious effort and 10+ minutes. I felt safe when it was on my bike. That being said, I started not bringing it along because it was so heavy, and I began realizing I didn't really need it for the area I was in.Pros:-Great build quality-Fabric sheath good for preventing scratches and pinches-Lock felt very solid, and was easy to open and close with the keys-Sturdy, compact bag for carrying was a bonusCons:-Heavy-The lock itself seemed easily pick-able. Very durable, but someone with a lock-pick set would make quick work of it.Would I buy it again?Yes, it's a quality product. Maybe a bit on the pricey side, but it felt good.
