The BEST service with the BEST sound. Recommended!
The best pickup I have ever had for my mandolin. The clamp fits fine, I have a beautiful Eastman mandolin that is now singing loud and clear. BTW, i had a small problem that was attended to within an hour. It is the best customer service I have ever received from anything (NOT an exaggeration).

Sounds great!
Not only does this mic sound MUCH better that the Beta 57 that I had been using, the unbalanced 1/4 inch output allows me to use my wireless system. Also, the volume control on the preamp is a great feature since I swap mandolin and guitar at gigs, and hang the mandolin on my mic stand. Now I have complete control without having to address the mixer every time I play the mandolin. This is a great product. Six stars!

Incredible design and sound!
This pickup is super well designed and sounds awesome. Because it is an actual mic (rather than piezo pickup) you can actually get your mandolin to sound the way it is meant to be heard. I recently used this in a live performance. With live drums and in ear monitors, it worked incredibly well. The bleed was minimal and the tone was perfect. The mount works extremely well, and I am very impressed with the overall design. The customer service is top notch too! I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to get a great sound with minimal effort!

Clamp Doesn't Fit Mandolin
I love the form factor of this pickup, if only it fit my mandolin. I bought this specifically because it has a clamp to attach it to the mandolin. The clamp opens to about 1 3/4 inches, which is on the verge of separation. This barely fits my mandolin, and once the pads are added to the clamp all bets are off. I was unable to test the sound quality because either the batteries that came with the item are dead, or the microphone/preamp are defective. I returned the item. I guess I'll look elsewhere for a mandolin pickup.

All around, an excellent pickup for acoustic instruments.
Bought this for a vintage Flatiron mandolin and it has performed admirably on stage for both that and my fiddle. I did have some issues with feedback at higher volumes since it uses a microphone. Placement on the instrument is obviously important and the 10-band equalizer on my pedalboard is helpful in controlling that. The sound is more accurate and pleasing than most pickups offer on acoustic instruments. And, for performing, the onboard volume control is a blessing.

Great tone and customer service
Great sound for my mandolin. My gold tone has built in pickup but to pick up the real sound, you need an out of body mic. And this is it! Also great customer service.

Tremendous Product built in USA and 100% Supported
SO much better than the onboard pickup systems. My mandolin is exactly my mandolin, with all the overtones, sweet spots and Beatty of an acoustic instrument. She stands way out in front of the pickup dudes in terms of “belly” and warmth. Then, there’s Greg Myers—owner, designer, and musician—who is 1l00% into making sure we are very satisfied with his product. Check out the “Feather” model, too—especially for mandolin. Its better if youre moving around a lot. I have both models and each one is fabulous. If you must be amplified, Myers is, without hesitation, the way to go. UPDATE In a pinch, I flip the mando up and sing through the microphone...actually, better than standard mikes, maybe for the body resonance. Cool!

Now I've figured out how best to use the Myers mic I think it's excellent. It gives a very good, natural sound from my mandolin and the carpenter clamp is a very practical method of mounting it. I had a bit of a puzzle initially as I couldn't get a usable signal level. However, after a prompt and very helpful response from Gregg Myers (followed by several follow-ups as needed) I found that putting a simple DI box (very cheap - they start at about a tenner) in the chain works best with my mixer. Others may well find that just using a jack to XLR cable or adapter into a mic input will work perfectly. I've played it for a couple of hours, experimenting at various volumes and at various positions relative to the PA speaker and monitor and I've had no problems controlling feedback. The sound is clear and well representative of the instrument's natural tone. It's a mini condenser mic and it does pick up a tiny bit of handling noise and pick thud, but MUCH less than any piezo pickup I ever tried. It certainly isn't a problem and the only kind of pickup I've played that doesn't suffer to some extent is magnetic, and retrofitable magnetic pups for mandolins are rare. In fact, I've never found one. I'm very happy and I'm looking forward to gigging with the Myers mic. One last word about the service I had from Gregg Myers. I don't think I've ever known a seller so willing to go to trouble in order to support his product and ensure that the customer is satisfied. Communication is excellent and Gregg is a wonderful chap to deal with. Buy from Myers with confidence. You'll be in safe hands.

Most mando players know its a nightmare to amp up when playing live in a band on stage. I've tried everything including Headway piezo, DI boxes, then finally settled for K&K internal pick ups and a Marshall As100 acoustic amp with some 'Hall' effect to soften it up. I also hooked up to a Yamaha mixer to serve the pa for bigger gigs. I still wasn't 100% happy because the mandolin still didn't sound as sweet and natural as when 'unplugged' but then I stumbled across this Myers pick-up. I have used an instrument mic on stage previously and knew they can relay on the acoustic sound via an amp but never could get them loud enough without tripping it with too much gain giving a 'squawky' attack. This wasn't the case with the Myers pickup. Gregg Myers gave me some great advice in setting up this pickup. It needs to go into your amp with a balanced XLR lead into a mic input. The result was perfect acoustic sounding mandolin with all the nuances and timbre of the mandolin coming through. I can get volume without the harshness consequently I can turn down the 'hall' effect. My mandolin sounds like a mandolin on stage now. I did encounter some feedback issues but not unexpected using this method of amping up and I believe this can be sorted. Will update later on this Having the volume control on the unit is handy when you need to go from chords to a lead part, or just knowing you have some extra headroom when needed. Control was a little noisy on mine. All in all, I can recommend this pickup. Its a good price and if you have been using under saddle or internal pickups and still feel something not quite right, then you should definitely give this unit a go

Nothing but good things to say about Meyers pickups, they are a great solution for any musician who needs to go electric with an acoustic instrument without modifying an instrument. Awesome customer service to boot; highly recommend!
