Size Name:4.0 x 50 mm  |  Unit Count:900 These Forgefix ForgeFast Wood Screws have a universally accepted, Pozi compatible drive. They have 6 underhead lobes for improved countersinking and reduced surface dust, and reinforced countersunk necks which improve holding power. The screws have an anti-friction thread for reduced splitting of the timber, reduced 'jacking' and spinning of joined timber and improved drawing strength. The thread is serrated for improved pull-out and reduced torque when inserting the screw. The double cutting point allows faster drilling time and reduced clogging of wood dust and is capable of piercing 0.8mm steel. The screws have an 'Elementech 400' coating providing an anti-corrosive metal finish, which lasts up to 6 times longer than standard zinc coatings. The coating is nature friendly and does not contain Cr6+. It is salt spray tested to 400 hours. The screws are suitable for interior and exterior use. Size: 4.0 x 50mm.Pack quantity: 900.Since 1991, Forgefix have developed a comprehensive range of fasteners and fixings that are well packaged and presented and are available in a series of merchandising options (boxed, bagged and blister packed).

Strong and can be used for most of the DIY projects, except for metal
I have been looking for the wood screws for a while. Had been to B&Q but they were quite expensive so I searched here and found these Forgefix Wood Screws pack of 100. These are 100mm x 5mm screws. The packaging of the product is great and arrived safely next day.Package Contents :100x Wood ScrewsThe Forgefix Wood Screws are being sold for the use of wood, the product listing doesn’t do any justice. When I looked at the packaging it states it can be used for more or less everything, e.g. Hardwood, softwood, MDF, Particleboard, chipboard, Fibreboard, Ply, Laminates, Plastics and PVCu. So the screws can be used for more or less for most of the DIY project work, except for the project you may need specialised screws like working on metal. The build quality is good too. It is claimed it is anti-corrosive and lasts up to 6 times longer than standard zinc coatings. Well I will have to see that how true it is.NOTE: The wood screws are used for interior use only, although I will be using this for exterior DIY project (planter) where it won’t be exposed to water or rain directly as I plan to use a transparent cover like a green house.I really hope you found my review helpful and would love for you to click on the “YES” button to say so. Viciously effective screws
I'm currently doing some work in my house to an extension, putting in a lot of stud framing and some moisture-proof chipboard flooring. I've been using a combination of my existing stock of screws (screwfix branded) and these Forgefix screws. Both are identical 4.5x60mm wood screws, so the comparison has been easy.Side by side, the Forgefix has easily outperformed the Screwfix screws. The serrated edges really bite and chew through the wood and make light work of big projects. On the chipboard they do take an extra moment to get the initial purchase, but still quicker than the Screwfix ones. One word of caution though, they are vicious things. They will chew through your skin/gloves if you're not careful. While you're holding them waiting for the initial bite, as they spin they will quickly slice into you. I had several screws that had little metal splinters up towards the head, were you tend to hold them, which tore into my forefinger and thumb pretty easily. So, highly efficient but with a bit of a kick to them.

Drive in quickly and hold securely
These screws are a decent price and good quality. The waisted shank enables the screw to pull the two pieces of wood together with great force and the pozi-drive heads are cut deep enough to prevent the drill bit slipping as long as a suitable amount of pressure is applied by the drill user.I used these screws to make the frames for my fishing platforms and all of them worked fine so I'm confident they will hold the frames for the life of the wood no problem.Very pleased.

It’s a screw, it has one job and did it well for me
Used these to screw down my oh so squeaky floor boards on the landing, worked a treat, the landing floor is now completely silent, the bathroom floor however now squeaks instead, oh well, can’t really blame the screws for that, having tried “normal” screws before to no avail I was, at least for a short time, really happy with the results, like I mentioned the before the bathroom floor now squeaks instead of the landing, doh.Great screws for squeaky floors, just don’t drive them in too hard or they will pull all the way through the boards

Excellent screws, and well priced.
These are excellent screws, and well priced. I had a three-way fence joint which had become a bit loose over a few years, the wood still good but ground settling over time had caused gaps: a few of these solved the problem straight away. No need for a pilot hole, they go into the wood easily and without splitting, and they grip very well. I shall be buying more in different sizes for general use: recommended.

Solid Fixing
Great value for high quality screws is my view. These are premium grade screws that drive in fast and hold securely in both soft and hard wood. The top part of the screw has a different pitch of thread so that when driven home the ability of the screw to pull clear again is reduced.I used an impact driver on these and experienced no failures so they are plenty strong enough for general use.Overall, a high quality well priced fixing.

A Valuable Asset For A DIY'er
Bought a box of these for a major DIY project, impressed by the fact that no pre-drilling was required. They have been an absolute godsend, powering through the wood like butter. I was so impressed, I ended up getting boxes of different sizes & lengths, for other aspects of the project. Well worth the money in my view.

The best screws I have ever used
These screws are amazing - no need for pre-drilling, I used them through thick wood with no problems, even at the edge they do not split the wood. From now on these are the only ones I will buy. Worth every penny - not that they are expensive!
