Very Solid Hard Bluesy '70's Rock 'n' Roll
Really good blues rock singing, guitar playing and songs in general. The whole album is good and two favorites are - Long Tall Sally & Feel So Bad.

Blues Rock Gretness
Okay, so they didn't become as famous as Free or sell as many records as Led Zeppelin. There's an also-ran category in rock that was every bit as good as the giant hit makers. They just didn't have the hits. Of course, we're talking about a time when the B side of a single was often far better than the A side "hit". A time when you bought the record because there was more good music there- not just filler to support the single. Some groups like Jo Jo Gunne, The Michael Stanley Band, and many more made a good living for awhile by playing and recording very good music. Music that holds up just as well today. Cactus is among that group. Fairly well known at the time, as much for where the members came from as for who they were together, somehow they never made the leap to national hits and later classic rock airplay. But anyone with a liking for early 70's blues oriented rock will love these guys. I highly recommend it to fans of Free & Bad Company, SRV, Allman Bros. and all those bluesy groups.

interesting jam-blues band
With members from the Amboy Dukes, Vanilla Fudge, and Mitch Ryders' Detroit Wheels, the band channels Blue Cheer, the Faces, and classic harder edged blues bands from the late 60's and early 70's. The band was to include Jeff Beck before an accident made this not possible. However, what came to fruition was a band that could draw in the biggest concert audiences that made the headlining acts look like the warm up acts. Unfortunately, record sales suffered as the band struggled to capture its live sets on vinyl. Great musicianship from an underrated band. I recommend this set over the greatest hits.

One of the greatest bands ever in rock.
Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert,Rusty Day and Jim McCarty. Appice and Bogert from Vanilla Fudge,Day just out of the Amboy Dukes and The great McCarty from Mitch Ryder's Detroit Wheels. If you've never listened to Cactus, your missing out on the best. Nobody every played liked Jim McCarty and his influence can be heard in many bands including Van Halen. Tim Bogert has a very distinct sound and signature style. Not a run of the mill bassist.Carmine Appice creates some of his best work with this band. This is Michigan Rock. Michigan produced so much talent and music. Do not miss this.

Jim Mccarty Rules !!!
Excellent album I got into this band after reading interviews of well known guitarist such as Greg Martin (KY Headhunters ) Eddie Van Halen and Ted Nugent rave about the guitar work of Jim Mc Carty and believe me I was not dissapointed !!! I also have thier self tilted debut and the two albums go together perfectly. Killer heavy blues rock with excellent musicianship all the way around and great vocals.

Cactus/One Way review
