So glad to have this installed in my van. There are high hedges and other vegetation on either side of our driveway which empties onto a busy street. It's so much safer to back in so we can pull out head first than vice versa (for us and the pedestrians/cyclists on our street). There were some minor conveniences on this, and I would have given five stars, but I had to go get one more piece to install this in a permanent configuration, otherwise, five stars. Also, I've seen some reviews mention they struggle to get a constant signal but we have this hooked up in a long minivan and that has never been a problem.ProsPretty easy to install. I would have given it 5 stars on this, but I had to get a separate add-a-circuit fuse tap.Easy to attach to the rear view mirror.They give you the links to some youtube videos that show people installing them which is really helpful.It works exactly as advertised, many safe backings.I've had this running for several weeks with no trouble.The customer service with this company is on point. They are very responsive and very helpful.ConsThe bluish reflective surface of the mirror make it a little difficult to see if the sun is really bright.Not really a con, but the camera is right by the door button for the back hatch of our van. You want the camera in the middle though to make sure it's accurately positioning your car between the guidelines, so it's really just an inconvenient coincidence...and maybe more of an oversight by the van manufacturer. Also not a con, but the picture has just a slight delay...but if you are backing up fast enough for that to make a difference, you are either backing too fast (IMO) or maybe you're being chased by international hitmen and don't have a choice...I don't know.Overall, this camera does what it needs to do, and it's pretty easy to install. Pleased with the product, though if you have the extra $50 I might recommend getting the kit with the monitor instead.

This camera is a very nice addition to the DoHonest lineup of cameras. I installed this on a Toyota Camry that did not have a backup camera. Installment took me about 15 minutes as I knew where I needed to get my power from and I just used the 12v power supply port for the mirror. I hooked the camera directly to the reverse light power so when in reverse camera shows up in the mirror. The nice part about this setup is when you are not in reverse the screen goes blank after a few seconds so you have full use of the rear view mirror as normal.Picture quality is very clear with no lag. Being wireless it is sometimes hard to find a product that gives a clear picture without lagging and this camera setup has done a very good job with allowing you to see in real time what is happening behind you.As stated previously it is VERY easy to setup and an affordable way to see behind you when backing up.I would highly recommend this DoHonest camera without hesitation if you are looking for and affordable, crisp and reliable camera for your vehichle.

Pros:* Good quality built. Solid. The camera is great, clear and sharp, and tough.*The installing is straightforward in theory, but if you are not familiar with working around your car it would be a challenge. For me, it wasn't since I did this sort of thing before.* Worked the first time and every time. After installing, I turned on the system and the image popped up. There is a brief delay from the moment you put your car in R, seems like a second too long to compare with what I had before.Cons:I cannot use the display as a replacement for my mirror. And this is a unique issue to me, may not be an issue to you. I live in the SW desert where every car is a tint to the maximum legal limit. The back glass of my car is black (looking from the outside). The mirror display of this unit also had a dark tint to it resulting in not acceptable visibility even in bright sunlight (and we always have that). At night, it is dangerous.I briefly thought of returning the unit, but I finally figured out a way to make it worked. My car was an older Lexus GS300, and I lucked out big time since I can tie the back of the mirror through the inside of the ashtray insert, and the cigarette lighter was just beside that to use as the power source. So I used the mirror as a long display. The two areas at the end of the mirror were useless in this application, but it looked kind of cool. Check out the picture.If your car is not tinted to the max, I guess you could use it as designed without the visibility problem. I would recommend it in that case.

The system easily installed without complications. Vans with digital rear view mirror cameras are a must. All parts are included for the install just supply the labor which may take 1 -3 hours depending if you hardwire the components. In my case I hardwired everything to have a clean looking job by using a fuse tap from the fuse block but you could tap the mirror light if it has ignition controlled power. The camera was installed into the tailgate receiver cap making it completely stealth. The standard install attaches onto the license plate bracket is good if your license plate is centered on the vehicle. My Promaster has an offset placement. Additionally I used switched power right off the 7 pin trailer connector. Job Done. The camera image is bright and clear even on a 22' long van. The only negative is a blue tint on the rear view mirror which i am told is to reduce glare. Trying to determine if the camera illumination light can be turned of in menu settings - will update the review when I figure it out. Would recommend at this price point / feature set and especially since it switches 2 cameras and is so easy to install. You could install both front and back cameras with this unit.Update - Camera light can be disabled by clipping a small red wire in the harness. This could also be switched.
