Thought it would be softer. Base mold is made of a dense Eva or memory foam but guessing eva with a softer foam on top where your feet lay on. It's ok, just wish it came in a darker color or removable/washable slip cover.

Great product. The cushioning is very firm and is extremely comfortable to place my feet on. I would have given the FEET UP five stars, but the fact that the cover cannot be removed is a negative. I plan to see a remove able cover.

You can put this on your coffee table or anywhere you want to put your feet on.The backward is rubberized so it hardly moves unless you lift it up.I guess this is made of very sturdy, firm sponge. It's like the inside is made of wood or rocks and layered with many smooth fabrics.The surface is very smooth. The fabric is the one that easily gets dirty.To clean it, you have to spray with denatured alcohol or rub with some sponge or brush. You can't wash it in the washing machine. So I think it's hard to care. I bought this somewhat odd item as a gift for my mom. For reasons unknown to me, my dad sits in a recliner every night while she sits on their aged couch and puts her feet up on the coffee table. The coffee table sort of becomes an ottoman when she bothers to put a pillow on it.While shopping for throw pillows, I stumbled upon this FeetUp pillow on Amazon and was surprised to find that there was actually a pillow designed for this very situation. Since I can't buy mom a recliner right now, I figured a pillow might not be the worst idea.I live in a different state than my parents, and the FeetUp arrived with no explanation of what it is for. If you give this as a gift, you'll want to get in front of that. Eventually, I was able to explain, and mom was feet up after that. She's not sure how she survived with "just a pillow" before.The design here is quite ingenious. The FeetUp is quite a bit heavier than I anticipated, and mom pretty much just leaves it on the coffee table now. It doesn't move an inch thanks to the weight, non-slip background, and the "L" shape part that hangs over. I think having your feet up on the FeetUp is probably safer than having them up on something that can shift around, actually.The FeetUp has some room for improvement. The only fabrics available right now are black and cream, and it's spot clean only. I don't know how to meet the challenge of making this FeetUp washable, but it is an important one. There are probably some aesthetic improvements that could be made to modernize the shape.That said, mom is happy. If mom is happy, I am happy.I recommend the FeetUp to anyone who has a coffee table that is regularly doing double duty as a footrest.

Extremely comfortable as advertised, works great on my coffee table and a much cheaper then an ottoman, if you are used to putting your feet up while watching for T.V. this is a must, and a great gift for the holidays, will buying more for myself and for family

It won't slip when I put my feet on it.
