My Big Fat Fake Engagement

This is a big fat real love story about two people who believe they can never be together.But each secretly longs for the other.

Seemed a little long to me almost as if the author was trying to get the word count up.What disappointed me was a lost opportunity to break from the tried and true plot. Usually, they’ve got the ‘hots ’ for one another but are held back by best friends, misunderstandings etc. They can not decipher the other’s feelings. What if one says “I know you have a crush on me because your brother told me and I have a crush on you”. Their fake whatever to no longer fake but they play the other characters off one another?

My favorite read from Lauren Landish so far? Quite possibly. It's light, steamy, and a lot of fun. Landish knows how to write a rom com, with playful antics and a heavy dose of sexy. This brother's best friend/fake relationship romance is lighthearted and everything you could want from the trope - it's definitely a play on a familiar storyline, but distinctly the author's style. I enjoyed it from start to finish.The story follows Kaede, a gym owner who is seeking out a business partner to build the brand. When a potential investor hints that the deal will only be sealed if Kaede dates his over the top daughter, Kaede panics and claims he's engaged. The only woman who comes to mind is his best friend's little sister, Courtney. She's considered to be a workaholic and a bit of an ice queen, but neither of those things deters Kaede. He's always found her attractive, but bro code means that she's completely off-limits. But when Courtney agrees to go along with the ruse and her longtime crush on Kaede is exposed, it makes things even more complicated.I love both fake relationship and brother's best friend romances, so this combination really worked for me. It's low angst and a lot sexy, with more steam than you typically find in a rom com but all of the other things I love about the genre. Landish was able to give the relationship plenty of depth, so while there were a couple of times when I thought the lust was overtaking the story, it settled into a nice, heartwarming read. It moves quickly and stays fun throughout with minimal angst. While this is part of a series, it's easily read as a standalone - though those who are familiar with the series will love the involvement of characters from the previous books. If you're looking for a light, STEAMY rom com, then this is certainly worth a read. I received an ARC via the author (then purchased it for my collection) and am voluntarily leaving a review of this light romance.

I really loved this book filled with love friendship family and laughter. Courtney works at her Family's business Andrews Consolidated shes a hard worker has a presentation for ArgoStar everything goes down hill but it doesnt stop her from doing what she loves. Kaede and Ross are partners for One Life Gym its there baby lol they go met with Mr Sanders for the proposal for the gym he wants it too be a Family gym. Since Ross and Violet are married Kaede isn't they meet Melissa who is Missy at the gym she was a spy for her Father she wants Kaede he tells Mr Sanders that's hes already engaged its a lie and says the only name Courtney Ross's baby sister soon he tells this too Courtney to help him out she goes along with it.. Feelings are shown between them they liked each other for so long that when they first kiss they feel that connection at the gym Missy still tires to get Kaede but doesn't work. Courtney and Kaede goes to the first date he ask's her to Marry him of crouse she said yes they make love very steamy.. Ross and Violet are expecting there first baby everyone is thrilled Abi Courtney and Violet go shopping she tells them that shes starting to fall for Kaede for real even though the engagement is a fake. Alot does happen Kaede thinks hes not good enough for Courtney because she came from money and he was poor growing up but she tells him she wants him for who he is he starts to open up too her. The deal with One Life Gym with Mr Sanders doesn't go threw because his daughter Missy screwed it up she knew it was all fake she had a hissy fit didnt get what she wanted Kaede but they did get a new site for a new Gym in Charlotte NC... In the end they all have each other Ross and Violet are having a girl yay Kaede askes Courtney too Marry him for real this time at the gym with all there family and friends their the wedding was lovely HEA for Kaede and Courtney cant wait to read about Abi next!

Lauren Landish has done it again. This is the Book 2 of My Big Fat Fake series. It is Kaede and Courtney's love story. So much steam, love, angst and hilarity all packed into one book. I laughed at times so hard I had tears in my eyes. Absolutely loved these characters. Both were Type A personalities but bring out the calmness and spontaneity in each other. I highly recommend this book.

I love these two characters. I love Courtney being a Boss and battling her nemesis with ease and none of the “is he cheating on me” worries. I love Kaede’s insecurities not really ruining things between them and that he lets his heart lead his mind when it comes to Courtney, he doesn’t run or the one time it really does get the better of him, she puts herself out there completely for him and he trusts her love is real. Tickle fights, working out and the pure joy of being together makes this one of my favorite reads. I don’t want to leave them and I hope they show up in other stories in the future. Surely there are friends, business associates, family etc that they can be a part of in future books. I’m seriously going to read this book over and over, anytime I need a pick me up. Bravo, Lauren Landish!

This story will have you smiling, laughing and swooning from the moment you open the book. Seriously, you won’t want to stop. I’ve never been so sad to see, the end!! So much fun! This is a cute, funny, sexy story! Had just the right balance of sweet, sexy, fun and spicy read! Pure entertainment! I loved this book and series, can’t wait for Abi’s book to come out. I also absolutely adore Lauren’s beautifully crafted stories, her characters are so likeable. I never feel disappointed with her books, they always catch my attention 100% and I find her wonderful descriptive writing so enjoyable to read. Well done Lauren Landish on another spectacular book. Totally deserves more than the five stars 🌟 I can give. So do yourself a favour and pick up this romcom, it will definitely make you smile and brighten up your day. Happy reading everyone!!

This brothers best friend/fake fiancé rom com is a well written, sweet emotional read, that will also have you laughing out loud. This book has great characters, family drama, secret crushes and plenty of steam! I’m really hoping to hear more about certain secondary characters in future books. I highly recommend this as a must read.

Kaede and Ross have been best friends for years and have a gym business together. During a meeting with a new investor Kaede is shocked when the investors daughter tries to hook up with him. In a panic he blurted that he was engaged and when pressed, tells them it's Courtney, Ross's sister! Courtney and Kaede have liked each other for years but not acted on it due to Ross and the 'bro code'. Their fake engagement gets them to admit their feelings and the chemistry is off the charts! Secrets, espionage and the truth all pop out and create a read that entertains entices. Another great read by Lauren!

Courtney has been going to her brother's and his best friend Kaede's Gym since it opened and enjoys the Zumba dance the most, except for the fact she misses being able to see and talk to Kaede. She's known him since she was a child and as she's grown-up so have her feelings for him.So when there's a problem with an investment plan for the gym she's willing to play Kaede's fiancee to keep the investors daughter out of his personal life.This is a full on true love story with fun thrown in and girl gets boy but has to fight dirty to do it......

This mash up between a best friends little sister and fake engagement themes worked really well. Although Kaede thinks of himself as a Cinderfella, not good enough for his richer best friend's sister, in fact he and Courtney are true partners in every way. The story rolled along very well and it was great to catch up with Ross and Violet again , as well as a host of other supporting characters. I'm looking forward to Abi's story next!
