funny
This is one of 2 books by this author that I love. They aren't for everyone, it is irreverent and raunchy in places but make me to laugh every time.

Disappointing
When I read the descriptions and reviews of this book it immediately caught my attention. My local library didn’t have it, so I decided to buy a copy. The premise for the story sounded fascinating. I was disappointed. This could have been a very good sci-fi novel, but it’s just a somewhat disjunct, tongue-in-cheek satire about human evolution and intelligence. I read about the first 40 pages and couldn’t take any more. Might I have liked it better if I had persevered to the end? Maybe, but the pain of reading on outweighed my hope that it might get better. The author’s style of writing suffers from excessive use of pretentious language and double entendres. Characters are poorly developed, and the various abstract situations in the story are poorly set up and portrayed. I give it two stars only because the basic concept of the book is good.

Intellegent, witty and unexpected.
Waiting for the Galactic Bus is one of the best book finds I have ever made. The premise was a bit of a shock at first, but it was witty and intelligent.I laughed and grinned a lot while I read this book, but there were also placesthat jostled me awake. I don't know how many copies of this book(and it's sequelThe Snake Oil Wars) I have purchased in total, but I made sure through this purchasethat I would always have a copy just for me.

Don't miss out on the Modern day classic..Brilliant.
This short novel and it's sequel are as relevant to present day politics and economic issues (maybe more so) thanwhen it was released in 1988. A must read. Teriffic humor, rich vibrant prose. A master at his most provocative.

This was a replacement. I have read this book and its companion numerous times. Loaned the book to someone, forgot who and never got it back. Had to replace

Irreverent, funny, and an interesting take on the Evolution/Creation discussion
I read this book many years ago, and then lost my copy. Fortunately was able to find a replacement on Amazon, as I love the slightly off-beat concept behind the plot. In a nutshell, two "alien" brothers get stranded on Earth, accidentally "evolve" mankind, and subsequently have to deal with the unintended consequences by posing as the human embodiments of God/Satan.Won't appeal to all, and will probably cause offence to those of a more strict religious viewpoint, but a great read nonetheless.

A kaleidoscope of a book
I read this book some time ago and it is one of my all time favourites. I bought this copy for a friend (I could never let go of my copy). I'm not sure how to describe it. It starts out as a kind of science fiction, then moves into comedy and ends up more about philosophy. All I can say is read it and you won't be disappointed.
