This is a neatly designed combined 100mm belt and 150mm disc sander. Both functions use a decent size worktable which pivots from 0° to 45°; the table incorporates a mitre fence running in a slot for bevel and compound angle sanding. The table is easily transferred from one function to the other. The sanding platter also moves from vertical to horizontal, just two hexagon socket bolts to loosen with a key, suiting the task in hand. The belt has close fitting guarding which helps this machine achieve a high level of dust extraction. When connected to a simple vacuum extractor almost total dust extraction can be achieved. The chassis is heavily constructed in a single iron casting to support the tables and belt arm, and has locating holes for securing this sander to a workbench if you so wish. With its 370W quiet induction motor, this sander will be a welcome addition to many small home workshops, enabling shaping, sanding and profiling to be carried out easily and safely. There is a wide selection of abrasive belts and discs available, the discs are of the hook and loop type for easy changing. We recommend the Hermes Longlife Multi-hole Abrasives. Please note these machines are designed and manufactured for sanding wood and similar materials and should not be used to abrade or grind metal.

Nice and heavy
Unpacked this device and examined all round. Something was not right as there was side to side flop on the round sander plate at the front. Attached all the accessories supplied and powered on. Pressed start button and a loud buzzing and no movement. Powered off and examined further. Found the main motor is held in place by a steel bar from one side of the base casting to the other, but this had come away allowing motor to twist and fall slightly inside. This was easily remedied by hammering back into place. This motor support bar / pivot is just a friction fit in the base casting. Ideally needs better fixing. Now it's running ok, I've noticed vibration / shaking when running. Closer inspection reveals the two toothed wheels, with the belt between them, one on the motor shaft and one on the drive roller, are not perfectly round causing the vibration. There are quality issues here. However, for general purpose DIY / hobby use, it should be ok. I'll see if I can source some better quality toothed wheels in the future. There's one sanding disk and belt supplied of 80 grit. The swapping of these is straight forward enough.

Linisher not true
I bought this sander to tweak bowl segments, unfortunately the bed, Platte or whatever you want to call it has a hump of about 1mm in the middle so it is useless for my purposes. If you want accuracy, look for another product.
