This addition to Dash was really what got my son interested in the robot
If you have a kid that you are trying to get interested in programming, then Dash is a good buy. If you have a really spirited (crazy), mischievous (trouble-making), good-humored child that loves to do things like: Hide then jump out and scare you when you are holding hot drinks, Use whoopie cushions so frequently and violently that they break almost instantly, Use nerf guns for guerrilla warfare with a neighborhood gang of 6-8 year olds and sneak attack unsuspecting people, then they will love this. He can program Dash to sneak up on you, throw balls at you, then make Dash say something strange and then do a little dance. They are only ping pong balls so if they get lost under a giant sectional couch that seems to be a black hole of cat toys and lego pieces, you can easily replace them with more.Honestly, it really is a fun addition to the robot. I love watching him use it and laugh, and then call in another gang member to play with it instead of nerf guns, beyblades, or Minecraft, which seems to be the only things they think of doing these days otherwise.

Fun and works great!
Purchased for Christmas gift for 7 year old granddaughter. She loves that she could get the little robot it goes with to launch.

Best Dash Robot Accessory
Recommend this accessory. The launcher has been a huge hit with the kids and allows them to be more interactive if you have more than one child. Easy to attach to the Dash Robot. TIP: Make sure the launch arm (black piece that the ball sits on) is UNDER Dash's orange head attachment as the ball is launch when Dash's head looks up

Works as intended
Easily installs on Dash. It works and sends the balls about 3-4 feet. You can also use table tennis (ping-pong) balls with it also. The automatic loading of the extra 2 balls works pretty well (his head turns to knock either one down a ramp into the catapult)

This is the most amazingly customer friendly store on the internet. They were so helpful and kind and greatly concerned that my sick grandson's requested present was out of stock. He knows for sure the people at this company care about him and are doing the best they can to get him his addition to his robot. Thank you all so much.

(Not entirely) USELESS, but still way OVERRATED
Don't understand the positive reviews. Complete and EPIC fail of a Christmas gift. Dash is great but the launcher doesn't do anything. Maybe it's defective. Maybe Dash is. But when the robot executes the "launch" action the attachment that's supposed to flip the lever just lightly taps the lever. Nothing more than a jiggle for the ball in the launcher. My kids were SO excited as this was "the absolute best accessory we can get" and after an hour of Christmas morning frustration have given up and moved on to other gifts. Way to fail Wonder Workshop!UPDATE:After much effort, the launcher is now working. I will leave the original review in place for reference. My rating has been raised from 1 star to 3. I would only raise it to 2 stars, but my son does enjoy the limited functionality of it so we give it a "3". Even though we have managed to get the launcher to work, it still falls far short of advertised expectations and there remain several problems with this item:1) Directions are not clear. Why do manufacturers refuse to use words and insist on using cartoonish drawings that don't look anything like the product they're supposed to be describing? A few words would go a LOOOONG way towards facilitating the setup.2) The setup is quite "finicky". The connectors must be VERY FORCIBLY pushed into Dash's "ears". This requires so much force that it feels like one is about to break the toy. Furthermore, they must be aligned _just right_ in order to make that forced connection.3) Even when you get the launcher attached to Dash, it must be in EXACTLY the single orientation that will allow it to work. Thus, it may require a couple of tries to get it connected correctly.4) Once you survive the painful connection process, you have to deal with the inconsistent and fussy behavior of the launcher itself! a) There are two holders that supposedly let you hold extra balls that Dash can use to reload his catapult. However, the catapult design is faulty and these extra balls will not load. The problem is that after Dash launches the first ball, his head doesn't return to its original location and it keeps the catapult elevated. Thus when you attempt to "reload", the catapult is not where it should be and causes the "reloaded ball" to be knocked off. Thus, despite the claim of being able program the robot to launch three balls in a program, you can only really do a single ball and must manually load the launcher. b) The programming for the launcher allows you to "adjust" the launcher power. However, anything less than 80% of max power will not even get the ball off the launcher. We don't really understand the point of this feature unless it's to frustrate young kids.

Works as advertised
A real fun add on to dash. This is recommended to get the kids interested in dash for the first time. Especially if they are young and are expecting dash to behave like a furby.
