Wiha 74996 35 Piece Bit Ratchet Compact Storage Box Set

These are true 1/4" apex bits that fit magnetic tip screwdrivers or anything that takes APEX bits. The packaging is excellently laid out and both the holder extension and ratchet work. Ratchet is a fine tooth movement so it wont take a lot of torque, but it fine for most uses. German made tool steel that doesnt warp or strip when higher torque values are applied like the cheap chinese stuff does.My main reason for getting this set is to use for a torque wrench (FAT Wrench) for setting critical torque values on scope rings and bases and receiver action screws and these bits work perfectly in this application. A little expensive, but having everything together and organized in a small case and knowing they wont fail is worth it.

Very nice bit set. Extremely compact case. I only question the small ratchet. It is miniature and probably not made for working on cars (requiring lots of torque). I would consider this kit for other hobbies, not heavy car maintenance. Case is fairly solid and latches well. All bits fit into standard bit holders. WIHA has a lifetime warranty excluding abuse. Note: There are no security bits in this kit. WIHA makes another version with just security bits.

Bits don't strip hardened steel, use it everyday at work, bit pricey but worth it.

Absolutely fantastic in every sense. Great bits, great holder, great ratchet, and great case! The only improvement here would be to have dedicated slots in the foam for each piece, but that would make the whole thing significantly less compact. As it is, there is barely enough room for everything - it's as small as you can get and perfect for dozens of uses.I hope to see Wiha putting out more products like this but including small sets of sockets to use with the 1/4"adapter.

This is a solid kit. Let's just get that out of the way. For those of us that know that when it comes to tools "you pay for what you get" This set is definitely worth the price. The rachet feels heavy and sturdy and the bits are great quality. However this kit does have it's down sides. Not so much as with the rachet and bits but more with ¹the case and ²the image shown vs the item received. I did not receive the red extender that is shown on some of the pictures for the item. Nor did I receive the long extension shown on the first picture. I recieved the one shown in my pictures. Which you could say is somewhere in between. I really wanted the red quick connect extension which is why I ordered this set. That to me is false advertising. I will reach out to Amazon as to why that is and will update once I get to the bottom of this issue. As for the box, the bits come in 4 separate plastic holders which I can guarantee wont hold out to continuous use. They will wear and then the bits will be completely loose. I wish they would have made the inside of the case from hard foam. I will probably buy some foam separately and do it myself. All and all this is a great product. Not only because it's from wiha but because it's a solid set. Just be prepared for not necessarily getting what is pictured for an extension. Also as to what other people have been saying about the rachet slipping, it is true. You can either live with it or not. Its doesn't happen every time but it does happen enough to be bothersome. This must be a design flaw since so many of us are experiencing the same issue.
