Sari Pleat Maker Saree Pleatmaker with 2 Easy Clips

I wanted to say that I ordered this Saree Pleatmaker from Saris and Things and it was sent to me from Amazon. I received this in a new condition; it sure is cute. The Easy Clips are two pink colored, small, rounded metal clips; if they weren't somewhat rounded in shape they would remind me of hair clips. These are plain, pink clips that are not really meant to be seen. I believe the seller offers a more decorative clip set meant to be seen but the 2 in this box should not be confused with decorative clips.When I opened the sari sahelli Pleatmaker box, the Pleatmaker came in brand new condition wrapped in plastic; the 2 saree clips or "easy clips" were loose within the box outside of the plastic wrapped Pleatmaker, and most important to me is the instruction sheet... The instructions are really useful to someone who was not born into the tradition of wearing sarees. I'm a blue eyed blonde who enjoys Indian food, Indian culture, and Bollywood movies. I'm trying to teach myself how to wear a saree. This set looks like a fun way to learn how to wear a saree. The instructions create a good foundation to understand prior to viewing any tutorial video on the Internet. This Pleatmaker looks like it will be fun to use and I'm going to need practice.

Since I've brought 3 very light chiffon saris, I've had a very rough time pleating them evenly since they are so slippery & I'm used to the heavier silks, but I've been longing to wear them! I got the product quickly & as described, but upon removing it from the box, there was a small crack in the 1st pink plate. That minuses a star. Then I attempted to pleat my sari & I had to practice for a couple hours to get the hang of getting the pleats just past my belly button & once I got the hang of it, wow a very neatly pleated sari! I'll be getting out my saris a lot more often now! This will take off a good 15-20 minutes of getting into a sari.

I decided to try this item out for an event this weekend. I really needed the Easy Clips, so I thought I would pay extra for that set. However, they sent a set with regular jaw clips. I have emailed them and I am waiting for their response, I hope others have not been tricked with the wrong set. I hope this was just a mistake and they will correct this. Until then I would not recommend this product. I will post updates if they follow through with the correct order.EDIT: Reply from Seller: We resell the product and this is how the product is packed by the manufacturer... we have no control over what is in the box." Basically, they do not know what they are selling you. This is false advertising and the product is overpriced if it does not include the magnetic clips. I would avoid buying anything from this seller.

It is a great idea, but it was even easier to hand fold my sari then to try to figure this out and then have a big old bulky thing in my gut all night.

Customer insights are a powerful thing. Unfortunately very few folks get it right. That's why it's so important to appreciate those who do! Randomly, en route to work I was thinking idly about how it is that in spite of all this technology we can't make it easier to drape sarees! Then I think, wait a sec there's probably something that exists already. So I googled "saree pleat maker" and surprise surprise there's a YouTube video of @sarisaheli that pops up. I click on their website and I'm delighted to see that it's mobile optimized! Their product sells on Amazon! A week later I buy it and then it's here.My first attempt with it and it's a resounding success! They captured exactly the pain points I had and gave me a beautiful experience! I'd recommend just going through the images given in the booklet, and then just let your instincts take over. It's relatively easy to use and I love how the pleats don't slip off because of the design. Even while inserting the first flap into the petticoat/saree, it didn't snag/stretch anything in the fabric.All in all, it's a brilliant product meant to make wearing sarees less tedious, quicker and so much more graceful! :) Buy it for your friend who's just getting married / your special one and they'll be thanking you forever!

It's pretty good , quite easy to use now a little practice and I should be able to tie a perfect sari

I bought this to try for an event. It poked and hurt me a lot it’s probably easier to hold the pleats than to try and have this thing stuck in your gut.

I was having a terrible time learning to pleat my saree given I did not grow up in a household where these were worn but fell in love with them later in life. This pleat maker has been the answer to my prayers...easy to use and makes wearing a saree a much faster process than it ever was without it!
