Favorite Type Pressure Cooker
A few years ago I decided to explore cooking by pressure cooker. Especially with today’s free standing electric units, 100% different than a pressure cooker in the 1950’s on a gas range where one had to be conscious every minute of the gauge and time. The best experiment I undertook. I used a few of today’s kinds, now owning a 3, 6, 8, and 10 quart size. But this 8 quart style, similar to my 6 and 10 quart, with the stainless steel pot and option of changing the time and temperature caught my eye. For me, the stainless steel pot makes foods taste wonderful, clean up is easy, simply wash and to refresh the looks of the inside of the pot to new, clean only the inside of the pot with Cameo or another stainless steel cleaner. This unit includes necessary trivet, basket, glass lid for regular cooking. For pressure cooking, there is a wealth of preset choices, however, there is a Custom setting too where one can adjust the time for pressure cooking increasing it up to 2 hours or more by simply increasing the time after the timer is counting down. For braising, (browning) meats, sautéing (frying) onions, and vegetables by way of the Sauté setting, the ability to adjust the time and temp comes in handy. Also, while cooking, rotate the pot round and round, it swivels easily, helpful when frying hamburger meat down for spaghetti sauce, etc. This clever adjustable pressure cooker is so functional. SUGGEST: Place flat trivet in bottom of cooking pot (optional); water, (don’t forget the water), seasoned Roast, layers of onion, quartered, carrots, (diced about 1/2” pieces), potatoes, cubed, (not too small, keep large or whole if small), season with salt and pepper between each layer, set Custom approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours. When done, remove each layer to serving dishes, make gravy with juice in pot on Sauté setting. Wonderful quick meal. Hint: Make extra of everything, lots of gravy. Allow leftovers to cool in frig. Cut leftover meat into bite size pieces as well as vegetables, mix all together with gravy for Beef Stew as second meal. I don’t call this serving “left overs”; I call this serving “PLAN OVERS”. Smile.Must also mention, the crisp it up top came in real handy when needing to serve a leftover Onion Blossom brought home from a restaurant. And the glass lid with 2 steam holes works perfect on the Sauté setting after adding homemade dumplings to Knoefla or Paprikash Soup. Experiment, so many uses. Just love modern technology to make things easier.

Great cooking device with many different options.
This multifunctioning device has worked really well. It have significantly more capabilities than I have had time to explore as of now.

Bought "used" but came severely damaged, but the NEW one is GREAT
Bought one of the "used" units that supposed to be cosmetic damage. Huge dent in unit the size of my hand. Metal band across the top missing, and gasket to seal steamer cover nonexistent. All that for a 25.00 or so discount. Returned and ordered a new unit. Gave it a 3 star because I'm hoping new unit works.UPDATE: Received a NEW unit. Upgraded to 5 stars. These are really great additions to your kitchen! Cook a roast from frozen to falling apart in 90 minutes! Make homemade yogurt for less than 1/4 the cost of store-bought (and tastes better too)! Air-fry steak, pork chops, chicken...SO easy. I should have bought one of these YEARS ago.

Working fine
I bought this because it's the same as one I accidentally destroyed, although the name has changed. Love the 8qt and the ability to use to can pint jars. My old one didn't have the air fryer lid though. Didn't know how much I'd use it, but I use it all the time. I'm able to air fry fairly large amounts (nuggets, sausages, etc) by stirring every 5 minutes. It seems to work much better than my daughters air fryer which has a drawer that slides in and out. Pressure setting is great. I use this machine almost every day. Took one star off because the control panel is kind of lifting/bubbling. ??? Don't know how else to describe it, but it doesn't affect the machine's performance.

makes me look like a better cook !.
I have two other pressure parts of a well-known brand. My EPAF is by far my favorite pressure pot. It has easy controls, designed much better for customizing and no problems with “burn” notices. It is precise, controlled cooking. I make coldstart yogurt & many other recipes with the Sous Vide feature, perfect “boiled” eggs every time, our 8 to 9 lb Christmas ham, cheesecake, proof yeast dough, ribs from frozen to fall off the bone in minutes, etc.No pressure pot is “instant” there is heat up time, pressure time & pressure release time, but it will greatly reduce the typical cook time and tome “hovering” over your food.It has made me a better cook. My family loves it! Lots of Youtube videos & recipes on the web for pressure pots now. I convert many of my own.

Returned because it was too heavy.
There was nothing wrong with this product. I just found it very heavy for me to handle. My age and physical condition played a role in this decision. Also, it was much heavier than the 8 qt unit that I had to return because it of a recall. I was surprised by the increase in weight.

Buyer beware
This was my 6th pressure cooker. I was originally drawn to it for the dual use having a pressure cooker AND air fryer feature all in one! I didn't find the pressure cooker as easy to use as my Instantpots. The Air fryer works fine. HOWEVER, I wish I had spent more time reading the reviews. To find out that the lid of the pressure cooker, is NOT stainless steel, and basically drips off the aluminum into your food, it will now sit on my shelf. I tried to return it, and my return shipping total came out to $72 - $98 to return, so now I'm faced with do I eat $100? Had no idea that it wasn't like the other amazon purchases... It even is advertising free returns, till you dig further and find that's only if it was never used! Very disappointed in this transaction all around. Would not have wasted my money had I known I'd lose $100 just to try it.
