Perfect
This plug worked perfectly on an old lamp that needed a new plug to make it safe for use. It was very simple to install, all you need is a screwdriver and you are off and running! I did purchase 2 more so I could fix a couple other plugs that had seen better days. These are the perfect fix for when the whole wiring doesn't need replacing...keeping extra waste out of landfills.

A little hard to work with, got it
They claimed it was not necessary to strip the wire, but with a thick wire… it may be necessary to route the wires and still close it back up.

Used it to repair the plug on a vacuum...
Worked perfectly to replace the polarized plug on a vacuum. I chose this one because:A) It was polarized, a lot of replacement plugs aren't.B) GE is a decent brand.C) It had screws to hold the plug together rather than plastic clips. It's now April 2025 and it still works, nothing has broken or changed on it.

Safety Hazard
The title for this product listing is "GE Extension Cord Plug Replacement, 2 Pack, Polarized,..." This is NOT a polarized plug. It is a nonpolarized plug (as correctly noted in the "About this item" section of the listing. Using a nonpolarized plug to replace a polarized plug creates a SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. Nonpolarized plugs are used on 2-wire circuits, like lamp sockets, to reduce the risk of electrical shock. If you accidentally touch the outer part of a lamp socket that is plugged in while you are replacing a light bulb and the lamp has a correctly installed polarized plug, you won't get shocked. If you replace that plug with a non-polarized plug, then under the same circumstances for everything else, you will have a 50/50 chance of getting shocked.A second, less serious problem is that the color of the plug is brown, not black as the title and listed color say that it should be. Under the "About this item" section of the listing, they did correctly say that it is brown.

2nd plug OK
Worthless! One terminal is so tight I cannot loosen or tighten. Not enough room under terminal screw plate to insert #16 gauge stranded wire. Tossed in garbage. Save your money.FOLLOW UP!Did something I am totally against doing....I bought a second, identical plug out of curiosity. After. all, dirt cheap! Identical to the first but still doesn't look like the picture on Amazon's site. But, it IS polarized as the first one was! This one installs just fine. Quality control was lacking on the first plug. I now have a $16 plug on my device. I gave 3 stars because I put the first one in the trash.

Totally Works. Description is Off
I used a pair of these to make lamps - adding a lamp base & light to some ceramic Christmas trees. They seem well made for what they are which is, a crafting-level product NOT something you'd use on a tool or outdoors. Note: the Amazon description states "no wire stripping" needed. I didn't believe that when I read it and as expected, wire stripping is 100% needed; you attach the wires to a normal looking copper terminal with a screw - no insulation-defeating miracle occurs in there LOL.
