Gateway Speaker Bar
Received the Gateway Speaker bar via USPS Priority mail. Placed the order on Monday and received it on Friday. It's USB powered and has one cable with line in (green connector), mic in (pink connector) and the USB connector. The cable itself is 6 feet long which in most cases should be enough length to connect to your pc. Unless, you have your pc placed far apart from the monitor. The speaker bar is turned on by a volume knob on the front of the speaker bar. Turn it clockwise and it will turn on and counter clockwise to turn off. There's a blue led indicator that lights up when it's turned on. Tested it out and the sound quality is actually pretty good for a speaker bar. It's louder and has more bass to it compared to my Acer USB powered speakers which made the Acer speakers sound more like mere tweeters. The Gateway speaker bar has a more more fuller sound to it. It fits on my Gateway FPD1775W monitor via the mounting holes on the bottom rear of the monitor. There's 2 x threaded holes on the back of the monitor that you screw the speaker bar onto. The 2 x mounting screws are already attached/fixed to the speaker bar. Speaker bar is mounted on the bottom rear of the monitor. *Note that you can't expect to install this speaker bar on any monitor or any Gateway monitor. Only certain Gateway models. Here's a list of other Gateway monitors the speaker bar is compatible with: FPD1975W, FPD1976W, FPD2275WH, FPD2275W, FPD1760, FPD1760, FPD1760, FPD1765, FPD1765, FPD1765, FPD1775A, FPD1960, FPD1960, FPD1960, FPD1965, FPD1965, FPD1975, FPD1985A, FPD1965 The one thing I do wished is that its width (13 1/4" wide) is perfectly the same width as my 17" monitor but, it's 1" short on each side. Looking at the label at the back of the speaker bar, I see the speakers are from ASI Audio Technologies. One issue I noticed is connecting a headphone to one of the 2 headphone jacks on the side of the speaker bar. There seems to be some interference sound when you connect a headphone to one of the headphone jacks on the speaker bar. When I connect my Plantronics headset to it that has a volume control on it, I can hear interference sound on the left speaker of the headset when the volume on the headset is on max. I thought it's the headphone itself but, when the headset is connected to the headphone jack on the Netbook itself, it doesn't have that sound. It's nothing really bad but you can hear it when there's no audio playing or the audio is on very low volume. Lowering the volume on the headset and increasing the volume on the speaker bar helps minimize it that you won't really hear it. Overall, it's still good item and am happy with it. Here's the specs of the speaker bar off of Gateways website Specifications: AMPLIFIER Rated Power Output - 1W RMS /Channel Frequency Response - 200Hz - 15KHz Signal to Noise Ratio - >60 dB Input Sensitivity - 300mV Input Impedance - 10K Crosstalk - >50 dB LINE-IN CABLE Configuration - Fixed Length - 70 inches (1.8 meters) Color - Black Material - VW-1 rated Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compound PHYSICAL Material - HIPS Cabinet Color - Dark Gray Dimensions (H × W × D) - Approximately 2.3 × 13.6 × 3.2 inches POWER Power Requirement - USB Power (5VDC, 500mA) Connector - USB type A male (black) Power Cable Length (overall) - 70-inches (1.8 meters) Color - Black ENVIRONMENTAL Operating Temperature - 0 - 50° Celsius Storage Temperature - -30 - 50° Celsius Operating Humidity - 20% - 90% Relative Humidity Storage Humidity - 10% - 95% Relative Humidity

Great sound
Excellent sound for monitor mounted speakers. Fit my Gateway monitor perfectly. USB power means they power on and off automatically when I turn the PC on and off, and reduces cable clutter - one less power cable to worry about.

Mounting problems to non-Gateway monitors
There is respectable sound produced from this speaker bar for the price. The only difficulty is mounting the bar under my ViewSonic VA903b 19" monitor. My monitor does not have pre-drilled ports to accept the speaker bar as apparently Gateway monitor's have. So, it just sits under the monitor on the desk. Not listening to much music, this speaker bar does a good job for audio type presentations. Music, its just OK.

goood
its a good speaker but it breaks easily the turning piece broke on mine so now its hard to use but it still works. its loud and its top volume is high. overall its a good speaker but it can take up to much room i would suggest getting a speaker that takes up less room.

Lots of sound for a speaker bar.
I was pleasantly surprised by this speaker bar. It has a good deal more volume than I had expected. Sounds good for what it is. Takes up no room on the desk. I installed it on my Gateway 19" LCD flat panel monitor. Perfect fit. I like the fact that I can use my computers sound settings (bass, treble, midi, etc) with this. I am pleased.

Works Great
I needed sound for a monitor and this worked just fine for my setup. Great price too. Sound quality is what you would expect from this kind of system at this price.

Great price
Wish it was prime. Fits on top of monitor well even though not a gateway monitor. Easy controls to use.
