These are a must have for anyone who enjoys making cards! I struggled with cutting the different layers for my cards. I have several very good paper trimmers - but still many times my squares or rectangles would still seem a little off.....which can be frustrating. With these dies - they come out perfect every time and being able to use them to emboss the edges is a real bonus! I use these with my Cuttlebug and they work perfectly - even with heavy watercolor paper. These will be a staple in my card making routine. I have this set - the Basics A and also the Basics B. They work great together allowing you to layer with very thin margins around the edge. I know I'll get many years of enjoyment out of these Nestabilities!

I make and sell greeting cards to benefit our local library, and have quite a few sets of Spellbinder Nestabilities dies, but these A-2 Matting Basics dies are among the most useful for layering and framing A2 (5.5" x 4.25") cards. I took two dies (the 5" x 3.75" die and the 4" x 2.75" die) out of this eight-piece set and glued them to a piece of cardboard, so I could make frames with one pass through my Grand Calibur machine.See Customer Image for an A2 Christmas card decorated with a frame from the two dies that I positioned on a piece of cardboard. Checked out this item on several sites,item was much higher. Also well made and cuts out well.

These rectangle shapes makes my card making sooooo much easier when I use borders. I just select the borders I need, cut them out and my cards have a finished look in minutes. No more measuring just some adjusting. This has made my project making so much easier and faster. I am glad I purchased this item and I am going to check to see if they make this in circles and ovals. I would recommend this item.

This is my "go to" set when I need to layer on an A2 card. I used to cut all of my layers by "hand" but this set makes it so easy to cut pieces that are proportional. I've also used the long narrow piece as a banner/backdrop for text or to sit alongside a long die cut design. Sometimes, I clip the corners with a corner rounder and that gives a softer look and matches "curvy" stamps and "curvy" die cuts. I am really glad that I picked up this set.
