PREFERRED BY THE BIRDS
The birds prefer this feeder over others. I am a die hard Perky Pet 209 feeder fan but these feeders are now out of production. I tried the First Nature feeders which have 10 feeding ports. The birds love them. These feeders are definitely easy to clean as they have a wide access mouth when taken apart. I also like the fact there are no flowerettes to get crispy and break. Access is provided through a slit in the plastic and the birds look more comfortable accessing the mixture. there are some drawbacks but every feeder has it's faults. These are blown more in high winds due to their lightness. The floppy hook to hang them has to be taped up so it is a one hand job to hang them in place. The orange one fades in the sunlight. The red ones hold their color. These First Nature feeders are a very good price, are excellent to service and fill, and above all, they are preferred by their customers, our feathered friends.

Hummingbird Feed has two drawbacks
This feeder has a large capacity which makes it great for people who have a large charm and have to fill their smaller feeders twice a day. The all plastic construction makes the unit relatively light. Two major drawbacks - since the bottom part of the feed must be unscrewed to add more food, you must wait until the feeder is completely dry or any remaining food will poor out either upon opening the unit or when you invert the body to screw the bottom part on. With this type of feeder, I don't see an alternative. Second - there is no water moat so ants are free to climb down the body and into the food. I've had to clean out the unit twice to stop that. Overall, i give the unit an "okay" rating as long as you wait until completely empty and have some way of protecting the unit from ants.

Definitely not bee proof
I was excited about the reviews on this feeder however if you are trying to get something that is difficult for the bees to get into, don’t choose these. I will go back to the kind that have the white caging around the feeding reservoir. I have never seen this many swarming in my backyard - it’s the new watering hole for insects and they keep chasing off the hummingbirds. Will be taking them down when I don’t think I can get attacked.

I would recommend these to a friend!
You can't beat the price on these feeders, and they are great. I only have two small issues with these feeders. The first one is that one of the selling features is that they are easy to fill. While technically this is true because of the wide mouth, you can't set the container down on a flat surface because of the hanger loop that is made into the top. It would be a much better design if the loop didn't extend above the top of the unit so it could sit on the counter top for refilling. And my other issue is the same as with every other hummingbird feeder I've bought, and that is that you have to turn the feeder upside down in order to fill it. I wish somebody would make one that has a top that screws off for ease of refilling. I realize that the whole thing needs to be taken apart for cleaning, but it would be nice not to have the syrup running out when you just need to add more. All in all, this feeder is great and I would recommend it to friends. My issues with it are not unlike issues with any other feeder I've bought. In addition, I like the fact that it is made here in the USA.

Plastic "Jars"
The biggest negative I see about these feeders is that they're plastic. Not even a hard plastic that you could mistake for glass, they feel like plastic water bottles. I'm concerned about how well they'll hold up once it starts getting hot this summer. Plastic and ~100° summers don't usually mix well. There were two things I liked from the start though. The way the bottom part of the base twists and locks on to the top of the base (part with feeder holes) seems like it should prevent leaks. I also like that the part with the hook on top of the feeder can be removed so the feeder can stand on its own while I fill it.My hummingbirds haven't had time to decide how they feel about these yet so I'll try to update my review with their opinion later. I'm hoping they like this style of feeder. It's a good size so it should last a day before I need to refill it. (I usually have 40-50+ hummingbirds at my feeders. They eat at least 1-2 gallons of nectar per day so I'm always looking for bigger feeders.)Update: I added another star because my hummingbirds like the feeder and if my hummingbirds are happy I'm happy.

Good value.
Ordered these for my mother. She has old ones in need of replacement. She will put them up next year. I have one. Works well but if it isn't completely empty, you may have a little spill as the base doesn't separate from the tank but come apart with a twist an in order to put the bottom of the base on, it needs to be empty. Good value.UPDATE: After looking closely at the tank and base connection the base does unscrew from the tank. It took more than a little force to unscrew it but it is now worth a 5 star rating from me. Great product, easy to fill once you get the base and tank unscrewed.

Hummers seem to love them!
I have, well, too many feeders to count, and this is definitely one of the hummers favorites. I like the wide opening that makes it easy to clean. Do wish the plastic bottle was made a bit thicker...worry that it will become brittle with UV exposure.

Doesn't leak!
Finally, a hummingbird feeder that doesn't leak! It's easy to fill, easy to clean, and the birds seem to like it.
