The Palix River Pants are constructed from 3-layer, waterproof/breathable DWR coated fabric, feature high density neoprene booties, and strategically-placed seams far removed from high-wear areas. A wading belt and integrated gravel guards are also included to keep you safe in the water. A great feature set at a great value.

Poor Quality
Terrible. After just two days of fly fishing, the tape on the seams of the foot started peeling off, and they started leaking. To make matters worse, I was wearing Redington wading boots as well, and those had the top lace hook pop right off. This stuff from Redington seems to be of inferior quality. I was just doing short walks down to the river, and wading knee deep. No reason for any of this to happen.

Great wading pants so far, hardly any complaints
So far so good. This review is after fishing twice using these pants. I'm a 34 waist 33 inseam pants guy with a size 13 foot (in everything but Nike where I'm a 12). I bought the Large worrying that my foot might not fit because it says up to size 11. There was no issues with fitting at all. My foot doesn't even begin to stretch the bootie or cramp my toes.I got the matching Palix river boot, size 12, and they look nice together, like I'm a pro angler now lol.I wore these crotch-deep in a PA mountain fed stream in early April, water temps probably mid 50's. I wasn't sure how much they'd keep the cold out so I wore under armor and sweatpants underneath. I didn't feel the water temp in the slightest except for a bit in my toes. Next time I'll probably just go with one or the other and thicker socks, and obviously shed as the temps go up.I walked through lots of brush, through the woods, over logs, and against rocks to fish the creek and my pants were unscathed. I was worried a thorn from some briar might tear it, and I'm not super positive that it won't happen, but the smaller thorny bushes I trudged through did not puncture/stick/tear any material. The material doesn't exactly feel like it's meant to hold up against that type of abuse, so we'll see what happens. Some brush guards and these would be A+. But obviously these are meant for wadding water not trudging woods. The pants are super easy to walk in. Made me wish I gave up on hip waders long ago.I wish there was a pocket or two. Even if they weren't water proof. Just nice to have, but I guess the more seams- the more opportunities for water to enter. There's a boot strap clip on each pant cuff to keep the leg of the pants strapped to your boots. And there's a hanging hook in the waist band, good for hanging pants to dry or store, although they dry rather quickly anyway. So for now, I'm very happy with these pants and would recommend them.

Great alternative to full chest waders, but i miss having a chest pocket
i have been wearing chest waders for years. I've always wanted to get a pair of wading pants for lower water situations so decided to give these a try. I've only used these a couple times but so far I am very pleased. They seem well made and will hopefully last as long as other comparable priced waders i've used. I really like these for hiking to my fishing spots as I don't feel so restricted by shoulder straps. Makes taking off or putting sweatshirts much easier too, and best of all I don't have to take off my vest to "relieve" myself anymore. The only cons I have so far have nothing to do with the product, but more the switch from bibbs to pants. If you are used to wearing chest waders, it takes a little getting used to not having a chest pocket, and more importantly trying to remember that you can wade as deep with the pants. I know that sounds obvious, but I came really close to going too far a couple times the first couple days of using these

I also have orvis sonic guide pro waders and these are still great quality. I’m 5’10”
About time i got these! Wade pants are a necessity for the angler who wants options in various conditions. I wear these in lower water conditions and warmer days. I also have orvis sonic guide pro waders and these are still great quality. I’m 5’10”, 180 lbs, size 33” waist and wear size 10 boot. I ordered large and glad i did. They fit like snowboard pants. Bro fit as i like to call it. Really nice for bending, getting over logs, and just being comfy on water. I wear simms guide thermal pants underneath. I have a feeling i’ll be wearing these 60-70% of the time now just cuz they are also “when nature calls” friendly. Love the elastic waistband that pulls up like sweats, with no fuss, or need to adjust it often.

Good pant for the price
I’m a 34-36 in waist guy and I bought the size L. They fit fine. The waist has an inner elastic band, and I hardly need the belt. No pockets anywhere inside or out. I would like an inner waterproof pocket. The built in gravel guards are quite tight around the ankle. There is a hold down hook for attaching to your boot laces. I would say these are a medium weight pant probably more for warmer weather.

Terrific Value
These are without a doubt the most comfortable, great fitting wader pants i have ever owned. I have had some that cost twice as much yet did not match these for comfort. Im impressed.

These are great!
I initially bought a pair for myself. I really liked the material and feel of them. Unfortunately, they were too big at a medium and a small was unavailable. I returned them and this was very easy. I then got a pair for my husband - large. He is 5'10 and 190lbs and the large fit perfectly. Before these he had neoprene and this is a 100% improvement. They are nice waders and he really likes them.

So far so good. I have used these flyfishing over 20 times in the Shenandoah mountains as well as CO Rockies. I am very rough on waders too. No leaks yet. I paired these up with the Orvis ultralite wading boots and it’s a match made in heaven.
