Very solid, Handsome, and Deadly Perkin Dagger! A Good Deal!
Hi All, I am very happy with the purchase of this Perkin Dagger. As people have said it's not a hunting style knife but is a deadly sharp dagger. Mine came extremely sharp and after trying to polish with MetalGlo polish almost NO carbon came off the blade on the rag, it's a very clean Mirror polish on stock knife blade. The assembly is very tight, nice spacers to blue stained bone and close to perfect! No loose parts or rattles when struck on wood.. Has a 5/8 inch Blade tang that tapers down to a rat tail in the handle. All in all, a pretty sturdy set-up. These are hand made in India or Pakistan probably, but very well done. If this was a US made knife, you would pay a small fortune (I believe). Now for the technical aspects review of my knife: (1) Total length = 12 3/4 in. (2) Blade length = 7 3/4 in. (3) Handle = 5 in. (4) Blade width = 1 1/2 in.(5) Blade thickness = 5/32 in. (6) Weight (knife only) = 13.14 oz. (7) Handle circumference = 4 in. (8) Balance point = 1/4 inch from brass guard., toward tip.The sheath seems pretty sturdy and is made from thick but dry leather, I used Mink oil to soften and protect mine.So there you have it. I am very happy with this blade, especially for the price, but I like daggers! I believe mine is pretty characteristic of most of these, and looks like the photo's others have posted. Definitely looks great and handles great. Would be Deadly in a "defensive situation"!!Happy buying, Beside if you get a sub-par one--just send it back-- free replacement on Amazon! Stay Cool!, Jeff D.

Nice dagger knife
I have a very large collection of knives and alway carry at least one on me at all times. This is a beautiful dagger, well balance and mine is flawless in the build. The only negative is I would prefer it to be sharper. But that’s an easy fix. That said, in a conflict, this would make a great weapon for self defense.Highly recommend this to add to anyone’s collection!

the craftsmen ship is great, and its the best looking knife I've ever ...
This knife is not for everyone. Don't get me wrong this is a phnomenal knife, the craftsmen ship is great, and its the best looking knife I've ever seen. But still not for everyone. If you want a hunting knife, I'm sure that this could do the job but believe me you won't want to, At the risk of getting it dirty (for that task I would recommend a traditional buck knife). If you want it for a camp knife, still not the best choice sure you can make feather sticks and chop but you can't baton and other tasks because of the double blade. Bush craft? It would be great if only the blade was single edged! I believe this knife was primarily made for show. Again don't get me wrong this is a phenomenal knife I LOVE it. Its extremely sturdy its a full stick tang the handle is REAL BUFFALO BONE as other reviews might say other wise. But its not the most practical knife. So if you want a stunningly beautiful, sturdy double edged blade there you go, its a great chopper but can't baton, comes razor-sharp makes good feather sticks and is a great whittling knife. This blade gets the thumbs up from me I say go ahead and buy it.

Beautiful knife that's worth the money
It's a really beautiful knife, and it has a firm and solid grip that doesn't feel like it will fall apart like some cheaper knifes, the flaws of the knife are real minuscule like color variations, for example the red caps on my knife on the front and rear of the knife handle are black not red. But it could be different from knife to knife. really it doesn't matter when the knife is well made I have other knifes but this one is eye candy and it's just great. A little tip to the sellers of the knifes, the sheaths belt loop is really tall when worn on the hip, (I've noticed this with a lot of knife sheaths)flops around, if the hoop was an inch shorter then I think it would stop being loose would offer more support for the pins that hold it together to the sheath and it would also put less stress on the leather itself, all in all its a good ass knife highly recommend to the knife collector, or if your just looking for a good knife, thank you for reading and have a nice day.

Take a chance..?! You might get lucky...?
Must be hit and miss on quality. My knife was poorly put together. The tang jiggled, the handle spun and moved around. Too bad... it looks nice, but not functional...!

A work of art, and very functional, VERY sharp knife.
This knife is a piece of ART! The handle is amazing... there is way more detail in the inlay than shows up here in the pictures. I think this may be out of stock forever now, but if it comes back into production, BUY IT!! It's beautiful, and worth every penny of the price. The blade itself was sharp as a razor straight out of the package. The leather sheath, while nothing particularly artistic or beautiful, is very sturdy and well made -- as would need be with a knife this sharp and double edged. These knives by Perkins seem to be made in very limited numbers, so if you see one that you like, don't wait long to order it. The one you want will most likely be sold out when you come back from thinking it over.

Nice display knife but handle snap closure on sheath was horribly misplaced -- ruined the look of the knife. Returned
