Cardboard easy to carry around. Purchased this a few years ago. This is a replacement after bending. Giving 4 stars-the sticker product placement to remove is a pain and scratched the actual product.

My son dressed at Marty McFly for Halloween this year, and was excited to receive the hoverboard prop to add to his costume. Like other reviewers mentioned, it is a thin, cardboard/plastic coated item. The cost of the item was $11.99 but shipping was $8. With tax, the total cost was $22. I feel that the item with shipping should be no more than $15. I understand that halloween items are usually pretty pricey, but with the size and quality that is where I would have priced it. I also wish the sticker on the back was easier to remove. We ended up leaving it on because it was tearing..it was either take it off and scratch the item up trying to remove the sticker, or leave it on. I felt that if I tried windex or any type of sticker remover product, it would ruin the finish on the product. Other than that, the item did what it was supposed to and my son enjoyed himself. Just wish it was a bit less expensive. ($7 difference might not be a big deal for some of you, I just try to keep extra expenses at a minimum :) Thank you!

Worked out well for a halloween costume, made of thick cardboard and stood up all night. Roughly about 2 feet long.

Great quality for the price. There are mixed reviews on whether this is cardboard or plastic (as advertised) and the one that I received is made of plastic, but I can see how people would believe it is cardboard as the two sides are sandwiched between what appears to the effect of what cardboard 'middle' looks like. However it is still plastic and very sturdy. We had people standing on this at our BTTF party while standing half on a step and half off (sadly it didn't ACTUALLY hover.) But neither did it catch on fire like the "real" hoverboards seem to be doing these days - so WINNING! Most of our props went by the wayside after the party, we've kept the hoverboard and are quite happy to have its 80-rifficness around.

You get what you pay for. For $10 I think it is a great prop! I can't wait to use it on Halloween. My only complaint was mine was bent in a little on the side. Nothing major though!
