Bodyguard Mini Bike Pump - Reliable Hand Air Pump, Presta and Schrader Valve Compatible with Road, Mountain and BMX Bicycle Tires, High Pressure 260 Psi, 7.3 inches

This is my first mini pump, so I do not really have a base reference to compare and contrast. What I can provide however, is my impressions of the product, based on materials, ease of use, and value.One of the things I really appreciate about the pump is the material selection. The main body of the pump is made of aluminium, and is extremely light. I also opened the pump to see the internal workings, since I was worried that heat would damage the rubber valve. In short, the piston comes lightly oiled, so for good measure I added a drop of extra machine oil. The assembled pump also feels well constructed with a solid feel; no slack. The kit also comes with everything in the product image, and the supplied valve/tube extension provides an air tight seal. The travel case also comes as a nice add on.Next is the ease of use and ergonomics. To give you an idea it takes me about 130 pumps to max out my my 29+ tire with a tube of 29"x3." Again I cannot compare this efficiency to any other mini pump as I mentioned earlier. However, replacing a flat was quick, and my arms did not feel fatigued. The pump features smooth travel, when pumping, and despite reaching the max psi of the tube the pump remains easy to pump. Now the one improvement that could be made is in regards to the ergonomics or the meeting point of the two halves of the pump body, which if careless you could create a pinch point. Ouch!Finally, for the price you get a great mini pump: durability, however, would require me to see how it actually holds up. The kit comes with a bike mount, however, I just did away with the mount and stored it in my bag. In all, the product comes at a reasonable price. Now what you get at this price certainly compromises the longevity of the parts, which is yet to be seen.

Keep this in a bag of your pocket. The slightest bump will knock this from the bike attachment/bracket.

This is a solid pump. It’s worked countless times both on presta and Schader valves with no trouble at all. The hose attaches and detaches easily and bends smoothly to work properly at any angle. I was able to attach the mount underneath one of my water bottle holders and it doesn’t get in the way at all. I love everything about this pump. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because it can fall of if you’re a rough rider. DO NOT BUY FOR MOUNTAIN BIKES. I only use this on my commuter, and it fell off once while riding down a curb. I guarantee you’ll lose this immediately if you put it on a mountain bike. It can handle any bumpy and busted up city street you ride over, but not a mountain.TLDR; Great pump, does as promised. Might fall off if you ride like a maniac in the streets, definitely will fall off if you ride mountains.Edit: I changed my review to 3 stars because it fell off again and I lost it. I moved, so my commute changed; and the new commute had me riding over a set of train tracks. Hitting those made it fall of nearly every other day, and one day I just wasn’t paying attention and didn’t notice it fall. I still really like this pump, I just wish it was attached more solidly.

I put this on a beater bike I was building. I only had one place on the frame to mount things, so attaching this under the water bottle cage is perfect for me. The pump seems heavy duty enough. I don't like the screw on valve vs the clip on type but for this price point it will do. I gave it four stars only because the mounting bracket is kind of weak. Twice the pump almost came off while riding around. I solved the problem by running a two sided velcro strap through the bracket and around the pump. Easy fix but be aware of it.

Four stars for being light weight, compact, and very well designed and made, with one major exception. Not five stars from me because of one bad design feature which can result in the pump falling out of its mount and off the bike if one tiny piece of plastic breaks. Basically the problem is that the pump clips into the bracket bolted on the bike, and is intended to be held in place by a thin metal strip that engages two tiny plastic retainers. If one breaks off, which happened to me, the resulting wobble can break the other one off, and the pump can then fall out. I would have returned it for that reason, but decided to just carry it in my fanny pack instead, the pump itself is fine. Arrives with no instructions at all, and no clue where it was made. But you can guess.

Great pump for riders who have the need for space saving. Overall the unit (pump+ valve hose) take up very little space in my fanny pack. It pumps air decently well, and the hose gives lots of confidence and reduces risk of bending the presta valve. One downside is the pump handle although very lightweight and well shaped, has thin edges with a gap near it's base, if you are not careful, you can pinch you you palm in here hard enough to break skin (The use of cycling gloves negates this completely).For the price, this pump is hard to beat.

It was ok for refilling sports balls, but threading did not work for my kids' schrader valves.

This pump is incredible!I figured I was going to be buying a tool of less-than-stellar performance because of the price. Also, I had never seen a pump in this hand-held style, so I assumed it was some sort of gimmick.With hardly any exertion I am able to fill my roadbike tires to capacity, only taking several pumps to do so. It stores neatly and inconspicuously (see picture in small circle on bottom right of stock photo).The only thing I really feel this pump is missing is a pressure gauge... I'm no professional cyclist, and really have no idea what proper pressure looks like on a tire. For my other vehicles (e.g. car) I always make use of the pressure gauge on the air pumps I am using, which makes filling the tires easy. For the price, though, this product is unbeatable in every way.
