Nice Looking But Poor Quality Control
These mounts look nice and are rock solid but I was disappointed with the quality control, and that's why I gave this product 3 stars.First, the parts that make the bracket that attach to the speaker are spot welded together. No problem except none of the parts were on plane with each other, so it was difficult to get all of the bracket surfaces to contact the speaker cabinet. The speaker mounting screws, called safety screws, are probably working harder to keep the bracket from springing away from the speaker cabinet than keeping the speaker from sliding off the mounting plate. Deduct 1 star for welded parts held together with a vice grip.Second, for $58 one would think that the manufacturer could supply sufficient quality hardware out of the box to get the job done. Apparently not. No anchors were supplied for brick or drywall mounting. The wall screws are poor quality and probably the cheapest available from China. Be sure to drill pilot holes or you will quickly strip the screws. My box was shorted 5 safety screws so I had to make a trip to a hardware store before I could finish the job. Black machine screws are not common so go to a store that specializes in hard to find and over priced hardware. Deduct another star.

Sturdy, Well-finished, Easy to Install - Best I've Seen
I thought these mounts were a bit pricey when I ordered them but after installing them on my bedroom walls and mounting my speakers on them, I see them as real bargains. The basic design is well thought-out, with ample structural attachments points to the wall and to the speaker. The metal is thick and strong, the swivel mechanism smooth and with good range (depending on the speaker size, of course.) The black painted finish was blemish-less. Searching at local stores, these are the best quality I've come across.I used the Infinity Primus P163 speakers at 16+ lb each but the mount should be good for a much heavier speaker although the physical size of the speaker could limit the adjusted range of the mount, especially on the back side, against the wall. I was able to screw the mount into the wall stud using the large wood screws provided. Mounting to the gyp board would not be as robust. One tip while installing, based on my experience - after you clamp the speaker to the mount but before you screw the speakers to the mount, double check the alignment to your listening position. For one of them, I had to go back, remove the wood screws between the speaker and the mount, move the speaker out further on the mount, and then reattach. That left 6 small holes to fill in the speaker.

Pretty good mounts for the price
After doing a lot of research for mounts for my new Polk RTiA3 speakers I decided on these. I was prepared to deal with bad hardware, but I have to say I didn't think it was too bad. I tossed the screws that mounted it to the wall in favor of some standard drywall screws, but the rest of the hardware was ok.I have one complaint which is that you can't angle them down as much as I'd like. I have them in a two story great room at around 9ft up, so I wanted them angled down quite a bit, and they don't really go as far as I'd like.Another issue which really is that bad is that you can't really tighten the base such that you can adjust it and have it stay in place. You petty much have to loosen it, adjust it to where you want it and then tighten it back down.As far as compatibility with the RTiA3's they're ok. The arms that hold the speakers are a little low, and due to the strange shape of the speaker you wind up pushing them deep into the mount (i.e. closer to the wall). For me this was OK, because I have them angled (one to the left the other to the right). However, if they were pointing straight forward, I don't know if you'd be able to mount them safely. I should point out that the mounts come with screws to attach the speaker permanently, but I didn't want to put holes in my brand new speakers.Overall I'd recommend these in general and for the RTiA3's with the caveat that you have to angle them to the right or the left.

Solid mount, even if not screwed into wall stud. One minor flaw.
I have fairly large speakers I mounted on these, the fact that the speaker rests on the mount as opposed to being screwed into the back, means it is virtually compatible with any speaker up to the max weight of the mount. This is great if one makes changes as they can keep the same mount. The mount is very sturdy in regular drywall using the TOGGLER Toggle TB Residential Drywall Anchor with Screws, these will allow you to distribute the weight in 4 separate locations per mount. Once the bottom screw is tightened and the speaker in place, you can easily still turn this throughout its entire 90 degree horizontal range. Vertical range is stationary unless you loosen the screw, 7 degrees may not seem like a lot of vertical movement, but when mounted up high it really is enough.ONE FLAWIf you have speaker wire running through your wall, there are no holes in this unit to put the wire through, meaning you would have to mount it next to the hole in the wall and not over it. To get around this I drilled a hole in each of the mounts a little larger than the width of the speaker wire, problem solved.Holes in the mount bracket would have been welcome, so this gets 4 stars instead of 5.
