It's just so handy!
Have you ever wanted to lay out your meat without contaminating everything and having to clean and sanitize it? How bout shredding something up, and you just want it contained on one piece of butcher's paper rather than picking it clean off your cutting board and counter. Or, how about wrapping your ribs or pork butt in some butcher's paper once you have a beautiful bark set on there but it needs another hour or so on the bbq. Tearing off sheets of butcher paper for your bbq and any other cooking need is just so convenient. Easy to use once you learn how to pull the paper up at the right angle against the blade for a nice cut. Easy-peasy! I recommend 👍

Perfect
This thing works great. It is very sturdy and comes with a nice wooden dowel for holding the paper roll. It really is one handed tearing. I also has nice rubber no slip feet if you don't plan on mounting it to a wall.

Not as heavy as expected
Easy enough to put together but not asHeavy as expected. Also, it took quite awhile to receive.Tears the paper ok.Gave it an4 because of the quality and for not getting when promised.

Works great!
This makes it easy to store and roll out large rolls of craft paper at our school. We are planning to mount it on the wall. It’s very sturdy.

quality addition but space consuming
I love the item once I found a place to hang it. If you have a room it is a must have for smoking or grilling meats and later preserving them. Butcher paper is sooooooo much better than alternative papers especially while smoking a breast of chicken to keep moist without steaming in some other alternatives. The dispenser once hung cuts the paper with precision. If you have the room and grill or smoke you will love it.

An example of what a shoddy product is
If you enjoy fixing brand new products then I recommend this item. If you do not, then run from it. You will need a file, some 3 in 1 oil, and something to bend metal with like pliers or a hammer. It's basically rubbish of the worst kind. I read the reviews and decided it couldn't be so bad - I was wrong. It's very, very flimsy and the mechanisms on each side that have the springs wouldn't even allow the bar to move out because of the excess paint and bent metal supports. Yet, some metal didn't receive any paint and was already rusting. I nearly ruined it bending it with my hands pulling the bar out. That's when I realized I needed to file off excess paint and use the oil to work the metal in and out so as to allow the metal to move freely. The other reviewers were correct - it won't mount on the wall unless you turn it upside down. If you don't turn it upside down the roll of paper will tumble out and fall on your feet. But upside down the thing is so clumsy to use you will quickly regret that way of mounting. Why does the seller show it mounted on the wall without being upside down? That is a very interesting question. Also the hole for the screw is supposed to be in-line with a notch on the second rib of the braces, so you can get a screwdriver lined-up and be able to screw in the screw. The notch is so far off that you would only be able to screw in the screw with a large angle on the screw driver. Another example of total lack of attention to detail from the product designers. After I "fixed" everything that I could, I sat it on a table and decided to try it but I never could get a piece of paper to tear off in a clean way all the way across. That's where the file came in again. I tried filing all the excess paint (yes even on the cutter) off the edges of the serrations, but it didn't help. The cutter is junk as well. Who paints the edges of knives or cutting tools? The entire thing is one of the shoddiest, clumsiest, and poorly made items I have ever purchased (I'm 64). What group of people managed to get this to market? What manager would have approved of it?So, I am going to just use it as a simple paper roll holder just like what holds my toilet paper, so that I can pull out paper evenly. Sine the cutting edge is useless, I will use my own nice sharp scissors to cut a clean line across. That's about all it's good for - something to hold a roll of paper. What company put their name on this piece of shoddy junk - Bryco? They should be ashamed of themselves. After all the work I put into it I will keep it now, as an overpriced holder for a roll of paper and a testament to how poorly a design can be executed. But more importantly - as a harsh lesson to myself to trust the negative reviews better next time. I apologize to the people that gave negative reviews, I'm sorry I didn't heed them.Note: I have since received a refund from Bryco without asking for one, so I want to thank them for that.
