Ludwig Element Evolution LCEE6220 6-piece Complete Drum Set with Zildjian Cymbals - Gold Sparkle

I chose this Ludwig set cuz I read they are good for beginners. Being a new Grandma I feel it's important when experts tell you to start slowing down, you go out and buy a set of drums. I feel everyone needs to play drums just to keep our coordination challenged and ever evolving. And I clearly remember Ringo had Ludwig drums and he was a leftie genius playing right handed drums which caused him to innovate new ways of playing. So I'm honoring the humble Ringo Starr when I chose to own Ludwig drums. These drums/cymbals are gorgeous and sound awesome! AND the company selling these drums on Amazon at the time I ordered them, Music Buys, treated me like gold! One of the toms arrived damaged and they were kind enough to replace it and were even very kind about it! I am very happy with this purchase and the company that sold them to me! My cats helped me set them up. If we can do it anyone can. Plus there's enough drum set up info online to make it actually fun to do. I now have a HUGE new respect for all the drummers who set up and break down their drums on gigs! Woof! They need to be paid more!

I always loved the drums in music but never played. I bought some sticks a time or two but never a kit. Bought this kit new off Reverb.com. My first kit and a 60th birthday present to myself! I am THRILLED. I think of it like buying a Harley Davidson off the show room floor. There are tons of things to customize it with to make it yours and I am not finished yet! I really couldn't be happier with it.Made in Monroe, NC USA, so gotta love that. Came with Zildjian I series cymbals which I have since upgraded to Zildjian Ss and Ks. Upgraded the heads to Evans Onyx on the batters and G1 resos on the toms and EMAD2 to the bass. Gotta say the hi hat and bass pedals are LOW quality. Hi hat pedal is better than kick. Upgraded there too. All this over the course of the past 1.5 years. I have been very pleased with the sound I get from the drums given the upgraded heads, but for an entry level kit, this was all I needed. I tend to obsess over things and am still customizing as my playing improves through the help of gozillions of free online lessons. Next on the list to add are some percussions accessories. I really love this kit!Overall the drums themselves are perfectly fine. They are not top of the line by any means, but totally fine and better than a lot of entry level kits. However, the pedals you will likely want to upgrade at some point as well as the cymbals, but really a nice kit right out of the box.One other thing, the16” floor Tom arrived with a small laminate issue inside the drum. Ludwig replaced it within a week so I have 2 16” Tom’s tuned differently. Still haven’t figured out where best to place it ergonomically.I thought I was crazy for buying this at 60 yrs of age and having never played, BUT SO GLAD I GOT THIS KIT! I play it everyday for 30 minutes minimum. I can't tell you how much fun I have on it and it beats (pun intended ) the heck out of paying for a therapist! :-)Do yourself a favor and get started with this kit!

Throne broke within 1 sitting, yep, sat on it and down to the ground I went. All the rivets in the legs stripped out.

Love this Ludwig kit! It's as beautiful as it looks online. It came packaged very well with no apparent damage to it. The only thing missing were the drum sticks, so it may be wise to already have a pair if you want to play it as soon as you're done assembling it. It took my husband and I about an hour or so to assemble everything. This is my first drum set and although I watched you tube videos about putting one together, I'm not sure how well I tuned it. It sounds pretty good to me, but I may not be the best judge of this as I suck at drum playing. But I love it! There's just something about sitting on a throne and banging out terrible music. It makes me happy. I agree with reviews on other sites that the cymbals will probably need upgrading for a better sound. I'll get to that eventually. Otherwise, I love looking at and playing this kit. I would purchase from this seller again.
