Great clock
Great clock. After having a Homedics clock for 15 years, the projector light finally gave out. I searched for a new one and came across the newer model. This one has a digital display for the radio vs my previous one, rotating the channel for radio. This one looks more modern and I actually like it. It does its job. Only thing is that the projector light is bright. But I will find a way to dim it with something. Got it for that reason but this light is bright. Radio signal is good too. Haven't tried the alarm but the sounds I love. Time setting was easy. It's also not too heavy. Easy to use. Projector light on and off is located on the bottom back of the clock. You can also dim the clock light or turn it off completely. I couldn't do that with my previous one. I had to use a cloth to cover the time since I had the time projected on the ceiling. Happy with the purchase and doesn't look cheaply made but light in weight.

I'm delighted with this alarm clock!
I am delighted with this alarm clock. Once you learn how to use it, which is my only negative, then you have an amazing machine. I really like is that you can be awoken to 8 different sounds. I enjoy the ocean waves, I have a hard time finding that. Also I like that you can decrease the brightness of the clock by just pressing the snooze button. I usually turn it off, by pressing the snooze button, and when I want to see the time, I just press the snooze button once.I did have trouble fully understanding that you can set the volume for the machine and you also have to set the volume for the clock as well. They are 2 separate and that is the most confusing thing. So I typed instructions for myself and why not share with you.To turn on radio hit “power” button.. I think that is how to control volume.. hit “Power” then volume.. ( not sure if there is any other way to do volume? ) You can just just hear Fm only. For sounds press “power” then sounds and keep pressing the sounds button till you find the sound you like, there are like 7 sounds…Setting the time- press the “time set” button in the back and hold for 3 seconds, use the volume button to make the time earlier or later, then the minutes hit “time set” and the volume button, then if you press the “time set” button again, its for 12 or 24 hrs.. ( I like 12 hrs). (note, you can use the Volume button for making the time later or earlier, or the tuner button, whatever you want it works)..Setting the Alarm, we only need one alarm, so just press “alarm1” for 3 seconds and then use the volume or tuner button to adjust the clock.. then press the alarm button again and have a choice if you want it to be “sound” “beep” or radio, just press the volume button up or down to pick between sound, beep and radio. If you pick sound, you will need to press “sound” in the top to adjust what sound you want..There are 2 sounds for the clock the sound you chose for the alarm, and the sound you pick for the machine. To set the sound level for the alarm---hold alarm 1 button for 3 seconds and it will blink the hour—press alarm button again and it will blink the minutes..Press alarm1 button again and it will show the sound- you can make it Fm, Sound or beep, if you make it sound just press “Sound” in the top right and you can pick which sound. Then final step, hold the Alarm1 button one more time and it will show you which volume of sound from 0-16. If you don’t do this final step, you will not be controlling the loudness of the alarm, so press Alarm1 that final time!!!Note- the one tricky thing is that when you are setting the alarm, the volume for the sound that comes on- again when you are setting the alarm, and hear the sound volume, you are hearing the sound volume for the machine, NOT the alarm sound volume. If they had been smarter they would have made you hear the alarm sound volume.Again, there are 2 different settings for the sound- 1- alarm sound, and 2- the sound of the machine in general. There are 2 separate sounds and 2 separate volumes, but for some silly reason the volume you hear when setting the alarm, is the volume of the machine, not the volume of the alarm. And 2 different volumes for the machine the alarm volume and the machine volume. So, you can have the volume of the machine off and the volume of the alarm on. So remember to press the alarm1 button one last time after you see the “sound setting”, so you can set the sound, this is something I was confused with.

Good sound and functions, with some kinks to work out
I’m torn with this clock. I bought it because it had all the features I wanted in one clock, but it’s just a bit disappointing.I can read the projected time without my glasses on, which is great, but the button for it is behind the unit on the far corner where I can’t reach it.I like the three brightness options, though anytime I press a button, the bright light comes on for a few seconds, which is a bit blinding in the middle of the night when I’m just trying to adjust the volume. The noise machine works great, though some of the sounds have audibly noticeable loops. The problem is that when the alarm goes off, the noise machine goes off too. I can set the alarm to go off to any noise machine sound, and the volume goes down and gets louder, which does wake me up, but then when I hit snooze, all the sounds go off, which wakes me up when I’m not ready to get up and want to snooze a few times instead. If I hit the power button and turn the noise machine back on, the snooze turns off, and then I’m in trouble.Lastly, the buttons on top are all the same and hard to distinguish. I often accidentally turn alarms on, so I’ve trained myself to look and see if they’re on so I don’t get woken up at midnight (which is their default time).

Love love love this machine!
This is a great alarm clock! Sturdy for when I’m smacking the snooze button! Snoozes for an hour! Starts out low and then gets louder so I’m not scared to death. Very easy to use. A little bright so I cover the face at night but the ceiling projection is great! I don’t see well but I can see that perfect. This is a great product.

some nice features, some not so nice
My previous clock radio was also a Homedics and I LOVED it....was so sorry when it died!! I thought this clock radio checked my 4 most desired boxes (dual alarm, easy DST change, pleasant alarm sounds, and battery backup, altho battery backup was not mentioned in the description). I returned the clock, because the "soothing blue" backlight on the clock face, even on it's dimmest setting is still blinding....enough so that it was hard to even see the smaller alarm setting numbers. The "soothing blue" projection light was so very bright, both on the top of the radio and on the ceiling, that it lit up my whole bedroom. Neither light was restful!! The "relaxing nature sounds" all sound pretty much like "static sounds." Not clear, distinctive sounds, and not at all pleasant or relaxing for going to sleep or for waking up. I was so excited to get this clock, and so disappointed to have to return it.
