Sunnytech Solar Mendocino Motor Magnetic Levitating Educational Model ST42

All my office visitors love the toy and get questions on how it works. Those few who know the answer get discount. :)The motor works perfectly even with very limited light. It's built well for an educational model.However, the item is a bit overpriced in my opinion. About twice. :)

The bearings on the axle are not perpendicular, which introduces wobble during spinning, also the magnetic bearings DO NOT align with the magnets in the plate, creating an uneven pull and does not kick the back end up to be parallel to the ground,. These critical factors prevent this design from working so I'm unable to know if this will spin from light.

The solar motor works nice and the finishing is very good.It is a nice gift for students and friends.

It seemed like a cool toy, but the magnets are glued to the shaft at an angle which causes instability in the magnetic field. The magnets are also glued on at the wrong location on the shaft, causing a repulsion from the plastic member instead of an attraction towards it.1 star review, requesting refund.

Bought this without any reviews and wasn't sure what to expect. It arrived earlier than estimated and was better than I hoped. It actually levitates on the magnets with just a small piece of plastic keeping it from drifting to the side. If you hit it with a flashlight it will spin in the direction you are pointing and can get going pretty fast. Gave it to my brother who is an electrical engineer and he loved it

This only works in direct sunlight which means outside or near a window.Very limited, will spin only a few minutes a day unless I constantly relocate it so it is in the sun.This was supposed to be a fun science toy, but ended up being a waste of money.

This motor is instantly one of my favorite Amazon discoveries. Operated flawlessly right out of the box. Was delivered promptly and packed perfectly by stirlingtechonline. It runs silently and in sunlight very quickly. My home led lights done appear to put out quite enough power in the evening. But in daylight it runs spectacularly. The magnetic levitation and balance is very near perfect. A little wobble depending on the speed. If you are at all intrigued, I would very HIGHLY recommend this motor. I think it is a bargain.
